I picked up a bone stock one owner 2002 Xterra a few weeks back for $500 with 160k on it. Runs great, but had some oil leaks. Replaced the valve cover gaskets. Needed some more aggressive tires. So I found some Tacoma rims for $50 and painted them a dark charcoal, and wrapped them with a set Milestar Patagonia MT's. Removed the stock steps and made a set of rockers.

After taking her out this weekend. I'll be installing a Lokka up front and building some bumpers. Been pretty impressed with the Xterra so far. IMG_2852.jpg IMG_2854.jpg IMG_2871.jpg

Dude, those sliders are nice! Out of curiosity, would you be willing to build me some?

Also, how do you like the milestars so far. These are on my shortlist when I buy new tires.

Thanks!!!
I barely have time for my own projects. Lol. The Milestars are great tire. I’ve been running them on other cars for years. Nothing at the price point compares. The solid center tread pattern makes for a great road tire.

Yes 265/75r16. Milestars run larger then most brands. The 265/75r16 when mounted are just at 32"

That's great to hear. Right now it's a toss up between the patagonia MTs and the falken AT3W's. The milestars are a tad cheaper, but I'm curious about the road noise.

I have the 265/75/16 Falken AT3W's , here's what I can say after 2,000 mile's ........Great tire on the dry road , pretty good on rain soaked road, can't say anything about snow cause we only had an inch and a half here last winter. As for road noise i have a flowmaster 40 [can't hear $hit] but they seem quit when I drift down a hill while off the gas pedal !! Their actual height mounted and on the 2nd gen X and under weight is just a sliver under 31 . I haven't done anything offroad with them as I've only got my suspension halfway done . Hope that help's, even just a little. :)

Milestars Mt = 535
Milestar atr = 455 (510)
Wildpeak at3w = 648 (716)
Wildpeak mt = 848

Not to hijack your thread, but this is what I'm looking at for tires.

Nice sliders! Looks like this is going to be a great build.

Send me a PM I am building a set of sliders for my silver first gen and my dad's second gen this month I can throw one more set in if you are interested.

That really is one hell of a deal on an X! Great to see you jump right into it! Those are some of the simplest but yet effective sliders I have seen. I'm definitely going to have to copy your design. I've been on the post about getting a set of milestar patagonia M/T's for a while but I think I might pull the trigger here after COVID-19 blows over.

The Milestar's are E 10 ply tires also, come in at 52lbs. Road noise is almost no different then the Michelin tires I took off. But they're a brand new tire. Tire noise normally comes in after a few thousand miles.

Actually, the more I look at this, the more I want to copy it. I absolutely love the design of this mount.... :p

Pretty subtle spot. It almost looks like it actually came from the factory like that. Only thing I would find concern with it that low is it interfering with a skid plate. But a great spot if you are going to do light rock crawling.

It sits no lower then the frame rail. So unless your cutting the frame. There's no reason to have it any higher. Plus this will never see anything fun.
