Brainstorming here and looking for some input from the group. I want to put a new exhaust on from the cats back. I was thinking about some form of custom dual exhaust, but not sure if my plan will work. Here's what I'm thinking.

Second Gen front pipe. I would buy two of these and cut them just before the bend. This will give me a piece of straight pipe to build off and the flange that will bolt to the cats.

Next would be a muffler. What are some good suggestions? I'm not looking for anything loud and obnoxious. Maybe a Thrush? Anyone have one, are they loud?

What do I do after the muffler for a tail pipe? This is a Bosal 800085 tailpipe from Rockauto. It looks generic enough that it may fit the driver's side?

What do you all think? I know I won't be getting a huge performance boost or V8 sound. Not looking for that, just like adding some custom work to the rig.

I think the biggest concern is heat around the plastic fuel tank on the driver's side.

I hate exhaust work myself so you'll have to take that into account but a dual in/ dual out muffler and getting an exhaust shop to build and run your pipes would probably be a lot easier and cost about the same by the time you factor in your time.

I wouldn't dream of doing exhaust work myself as long as there are decent shops around to do the work and do a much better job since they do it every day.
