The wife came home complaining that she had to use a screwdriver, flip a breaker and move stuff today while at work today (oh and she got her hands dirty).

hope its true to form. average man, pushed way too far by an unfair system. dudes a hero for going after what he believed in.
Have you actually read the actual factual history of this? The guy was a self entitled ufcking nut job. He wanted everything for nothing and rebelled at the system when they offered what was fair. He's idolized as some American hero. But he was just a nut job with a bulldozer.

In fact, he as offered over 500k initially vacate and surrender the property. He could hav gone anywhere for that. But he claimed that it was worth some obscene amount. Which it wasn't. So that was him "getting screwed over."

The city offered it. For free. But he wanted to be paid. He resorted to shiatting in a bucket and dumping it in a public waterway. Like a jackass.
And backed out of numerous contracts then asked for millions for a lot he bought and contractually agreed to sell for 250k. Nut job ufcktard who could weld.

Edit: to keep up. Initial was 250. He backed out. To avoid issues and inflation 500k was agreed to. Was then again backed out of.

Yeah, I'm not really looking forward to work tonight. The last thing I get to do is sit in on one of my guys getting laid off. Truthfully they are being generous to him because he will be able to collect unemployment for not being competent enough to do his job, if it was me I would have fired him months ago. Last night he was bitching to another employee because I made him clean while running a saw instead of letting him sit in a chair and watch videos on his phone all night. He is going to be mad again tonight though because he is going to be cleaning an even dirtier machine tonight while running the saw.

I'm tired of the cold and so tired of the taste of lime in my mouth... I've ever been outside working on some frozen thing or in the lime kiln working on an emergency job that hasn't been an emergency for the three years it's been messed up...

Appointments tomorrow morning then gonna grab a brew with a ham radio buddy. Weather is supposed to be nasty so probably plenty of laying around to but don't want to bother the wife who's on nights now.

I couldn't imagine how it would feel to lay people off. for me I just give them a bad wright up and hopefully they never make it past the rank of Corporal. then hope to gobble nobody ever decides to promote them to get them out of their hair

Wrong way to look at it. Granted, I never like firing anyone. However if you suck, my team sucks...meaning I suck. So I do what needs done and never feel bad about it...with the exception of monetary cutbacks.

I completely agree but where I work you can't fire somebody if they are incompetent or if they suck at their job. just hope that no career progression is enough to push them to quit

That's not a good thing. Working in a field like machining it can end up getting someone killed. The machines don't care if there is a body part in the way or not. I have seen seen peoples fingers cut off, a guy put a large tail stock center through his hand, and one guy get his head stuck in a machine and about crushed. The guy I am talking about is has scrapped out whole orders of parts but the thing that put him over the line he was running a saw cutting 5 inch diameter steel bar then for some reason he started pushing buttons while tge saw was running and the bar started spinning and instead of pushing the emergency stop button he was manually advancing the bar out of the jaws farther and farther. The jaws on the saw clamps the material with about 200 pounds per square inch of pressure just to give you an idea of the force that the saw was generating. This guy was hired in trained for 3 months on first shift then put on third shift. He ufcked up a lot of parts on third shift after being put back on probation and put back on first for another month for more training then back to third and his first day back was ufcking off and not doing his job (reason he was put on the saw in the first place).

Oh I get it. Keep in mind these people in my line of work end up killing their patients when shiat hits the fan. All I was saying is I I can’t imagine how it feels to lay somebody off or to fire them. Don’t get me wrong. If your giving them the boot they have most likely done something to deserve it. I also with that in my domaine it was easier to get rid of the lemons within my unit and my trade

ok @Prime so here is the thing...

there are 3 things in this world i know more then you about, hentai, truck driving, and the killdozer story. back in highschool govt class i wrote a paper about this guy and corruption. while its safe to say yeah maybe he should have taken the money when the cement plant offered at first but there is the thing, its not always about the money. see the this is the cement plant wanted to build there, they went to the town board and appealed to have the land rezoned around Marvins shop for the cement plant. Marvin of course appealed against this along with having a number of signatures from people in town. the town board said nawh, and this is where it all goes to shiat. so, two big things happen that end up happening to Marvins shop during construction one is they block access to his shop. Marvin tried to appeal this to the board... again, he gets the nawh. next here buys earth moving equipment and appeals to the board for a permit to build another entrance to his shop so that people can get work done on there cars and he keeps his livelihood. again, the board says nawh. this is how he ended up getting the dozer. now 2nd is really shiatty, literally... Marvins sewer ans water lines ran under the zoning for the cement plant and were cut. so, Marvin went back the town board and said, "yo wtf" and tried to get then connected and the board said nawh. then he asked if new infrastructure could be build to reconnect... again nawh. and then to add ufcking more salt in the wounds they fine him for not being connected! now this the part where there are theories that the cement plant owned by whatever name family and the town board were in bed together, especially when the zoning is so ufcked up you cut off water to another building. that and he whife ufcked another guy so yeah.. this is around the time Marvin starts work on the dozer and records his tapes witch you really should listen too. it is literally a man loosing his shiat and is on the verge of snapping. you should really give them a listen. this is also when he gives his famous quote "sometimes reasonable men.. must do unreasonable things...". now all of this from start to the day the dozer hits the streets happens in all of a year and a half or so. now Marvin did have some sort of plan when he went on his rampage they all had ties to people who he felt had wronged him, including a local paper that slandered him. now would you say he was crazy? well to be pushed to that point yeah maybe. but can you honestly blame him after trying everything a working man in a sleepy town could do to keep his livelihood he didnt want to give up? honestly i cant.

am i trying to change your opinion on this? no not really, but what im trying to do is give you more context on the story as a whole a lot of people dont know how much shady shiat went on in that town
