Are they still making Star Wars movies?

Like most kids in the 80's, I eagerly followed the Star Wars movies .
However, with every new release the story seemed to fail. It seemed as if the movies took on a somewhat kinder, more political nature.
Eventually, I stopped spending my cash trying to keep up with what had become (In my opinion) a Sci Fi soap opera.

I must admit, the newer Star Trek movies have been excellent.

Much better than 8. Did not like how the villian was introduced. We do find out who Rey's parents are, and it's a nice twist. I need to do some research on time lines, and I'll have more later

Did some research on time lines, and despite Rey's heritage, she's doing too much too quick. Assuming the villain had the entire 30 years since Endor, how did they get that fleet built with tech that new?

I liked the battle across space. Climbing through the wreckage of the 2nd death star was a nice homage, but I'm surprised a door still worked, and the storm trooper armor wasn't right given they were in a space station that crashed onto a planet. I laughed out loud when I read the first bit of the opening crawl.

Overall I’m was pretty psyched to watch Star Wars in the theater and thoroughly enjoyed myself. I loved all the nods to the original trilogy.

Rey’s timeline is a little perplexing though, I agree with @Maudeeb there. One explanation of the sith star fleet could be a reference to an old video game, Nights of the Old Republic, where there was the Star Forge that built a sith fleet. I think there was a reference in there, but I need to watch it again to make sure...

Trying to put together an Imperial fleet happened so quickly, I was suspending disbelief - same for a resurrected Palpatine - although I remember Tim Zahn did exactly this back in '91 ( ? ) when he wrote Heir To The Empire and subsequent novels. It's been a while, so Id have to check myself again.

But I will say that J J Abrams had to figure out a way of putting out the dumpster fire that 'The Last Jedi' was. And he did a pretty good job of it. Tied up a lot of loose ends and I liked the film.

I rather enjoyed it. Yes. There's issues. Timeline and that. But I thought it was pretty well put together and put a nice close on the saga.

Can we talk about Adam Driver? He was really good in this. I didn't care for him in TFA. Thought he was just acting like a petulant child. But he was really good in this one.

Did we figure out what Finn was going to tell Rey?

Saw it yesterday. Liked it. Liked it better than the last couple. I've seen every single Star Wars movie as a first run in the theaters. Hard to believe it's been going on for 42 years. I was 10 when the first one came out.

I agree. Adam Driver was the stand out for me BY FAR. I thought this was extremely well done. Less bullshiat feminism. AND you can tell the spin off flick is the black chick and lando trying to "find her story".
