work update.

gotta call back from the GM of operations. he was able to confirm that if my boss's outfit goes under i get a company truck but i cant just jump ship. company policy is that and O.O.E (onwer operator employee) can not become a company driver unless the truck owner goes under or lays the driver off. the GM knows me and knows im hungry for work and if i get a company truck, I'll eat the whole load board. so i feel a lot better.

now... everyone of the driver in my outfit are not gonna take this pay cut. we all asked our boss for a company meeting and explain some numbers. cuz its pretty clear we are all gonna walk if nothing is done. and if that starts happening then yeah, my outfit will go under. but like i was telling my GM, id rather be in a lifeboat before the ship sinks and not plucked out of the water after the fact. the next month is gonna be tense...

finally when the day comes and i get a company truck I'll strongly consider weighing my options to buy my own truck and become an owner operator. but i was talking to a coworker of mine and he said something about splitting a truck together... unless there is a lawyer present during signing, hell no. but if its all good then it would be a good last resort. but id rather have a 50k-70k to pay off by myself and i can run as hard as i want then half of that and still have to share a truck with someone. plus this guy has a wife and 3 kids, and i dont so it maybe like oil and water in the partnership. i run hard, but i dont have a family to feed.

honestly i just want my outfit to die and get myself a company truck and move on. then a year or two later, i buy a truck. we shall see...

Vent time,
If I was in the position to I would have fired one of my guys tonight. He was one one of the easiest jobs that we run and was having problems figuring it out. I went over everything he needed to check with him. I also went the extra step and highlighted everything he needed to check on the blueprint. He came to me asking about a dimension that he was trying to check which was not something he was supposed to be checking in the first place. I asked him what are you trying to check? He goes "I don't know" then I asked him if he needed something easier to run her responded "I hate to say this but yes". I proceeded swap him and the red head on my shift because she was running something way below her capabilities. He starts running this job drilling 3 holes and tapping then (same thread all 3 holes) so after about an hour he comes over to me because he is having problems checking the threads. At one point he came to me and said the threads was not going deep enough, he hands me the part with the thread plug in it and it turned out he did not screw it all the way down to the bottom of the hole.
I'm done.

I can get you a job, pay kind of sucks and you would have to stand for at least seven hours and 35 minutes.

People really suck...

We have an analyzer at work that operations refuses to give us (maintenance) ther job of acid washing and cleaning it once a week. However they also refuse to train the guys beyond "this machine rarely works right so don't be too worried about it" so it's always in a shiat state because of that.

We kinda took over cleaning for about two months then were told to stop, it wasn't our job (union mill) and operations was supposed to pick back up. Well all the lines are now stopped up, it's filthy and the scaling has ruined all the valve seats so it leaks like a hot damn.

They're bitching about it not working and we keep telling them to clean it right and the operator just says "I do what the book says but the thing never works right anyways..."

I lost it yesterday. Kicking stuff around and throwing chemical containers... I think it shook up the guys I work with.

Then we walk in the control room and another operator says another analyzer is on the fritz. I tell him we've rebuilt it, checked the sample valves, swapped lines and the trouble isn't with the machine. He goes on about how it can't be the water, they run hand tests and it's never bad. I just threw my hands up and said "whatever Jeff" and walked out.

Mid 90s action movies ftw. Name a bad one.
Love me some 90s action movies tho. BUT bad one?

Now, i am going to assume you mean movies meant to be good, not trash spin offs, like Delta Force 2-8 or those generic movies with no one we knew in them.

Im going to go with two, '91's Stone Cold OR '97's Speed 2.

Honorable Mention: Trouble in Paradise with Hulk Hogan.

(mortal Kombat was waaaaaay worse than Street Fighter)

Also, any of those shiat late nineties movies with JVD were pretty bad, and i watched them all. Black Dog with Swayze and Randy Travis was technically bad, but I loved it.

You're pushing it with 97. And 91 in no way means "mid 90s"

Drove the Maxima all day yesterday. After actually living with it...... Well..... Turns out it might need more than wheel bearings. Something tells me that it won't pass emissions. So rather than try and have to disclose I just put it back on Craigslist. For double what I paid for it. Already have three people saying that they want to see it today.

It must suck having to deal with emissions testing and vehicle inspections. I'm glad I don't have to deal with that shiat because my xterra would not pass them.

What, you didn't need another project!?
At least you've got interest already although I don't know that dealing with CL is really all that fun, good luck~
