Took the sliders off after ECXC to properly protect. Since I was dumb enough to WD40 them, I had to get them stripped and acid washed. Going to clear coat them since I love that raw look with the black truck. Decided on Penetrol/marine clearcoat combo. I’ll keep all informed on durability for harsh conditions. NY salt for starters.

That is one with Penetrol and one without

Good look at Penetrol

That’s what they’re made for!! Just paid for themselves at ECXC.

I kinda dig how your front plate hides your fairlead.. Does it just swing up outta the way by hand?

Yep! It's a Tuffy bracket but I redrilled it to use the top mounting bolts but keep it below my control pack. If you use the stock holes on the lower bolts, the plate hangs below the bottom edge of the bumper face.

possibly, its immediate purpose is for a camping trip/trail ride that the wife and I are doing with other xterras. we're using purple lizard maps to ride trails from pa to Virginia. It'll be used for air mattress pump, laptop, small compressor... you know, trail essentials :)

Got my sliders back on today after clear topcoat protection. Went with the Spraymax 2K clear in satin. 2 cans ordered off fleabay did just enough for 2 coats. The diamond plates turned black from the acid wash. I didn’t color them. Now I need to rub out the paint job and de-scratch it. And yes, put the nose piece back on... I know....
