this section seemed a little dead so id figure id try to reanimated its rotting corpse by starting metal discussion thread. a place to share favorite genres and discover new music and forgotten classics.

couple genres i like consist of death, folk, viking, melodic, old school heavy just to name a few.

just a simple ground rule: Megadeth>Metallica and Metallica is for casuals :p
edit: Requested rule: "nirvana is not f*cking metal!" thank you.

as im typing this im listen to this Children of bodom album, a classic indeed.

one of the most controversial black metal bands. the lead singer Gaahl was in prison multiple times for torture and violent acts. dont really dip my toes in much black metal but old school stuff like this is good from time to time.

This is one of the bands I liked back in the day. None of my friends really cared for much.

Did not understand a word of this but it was a great song when it came out.

Yes, a few times seen them at blossom music Center and Jermain in ohio. I wanted to go to the Alrosa Villa the night of the shooting but did not have the cash for tickets.

Metallica may be casual now, but when I started listening to them in the 80's they were far from. Megadeth is Dave's ego and they shiate.....
Slayer rules them all

The first metal band I ever listened to was Carcass. I'm mostly into Power, Progressive, Symphonic, Black and Death Metal. Not into Metalcore and I don't like at all Avenge Sevenfold.
