To Sticker or not to Sticker - that's the Q

Ok so I've been collecting National and State Park stickers, & a gazillion others.

Since 2014 a group of us have been road trippin' and trying to get as many parks under our belt as we could. It started after realizing one summer we'd hit all 4 national parks in CO and since we've been trying to knock out as many as we can of the 42. In the meantime we couldn't drive past other parks without stopping. Our rule was we had to do a wheel or hike a trail, depending on the park to be able to stamp our park books or buy a sticker... Sooo, that list went from 42 national parks to 409 national parks, riversheds, monuments etc. along with all the state parks en route.

I really don't like the looks of a bunch of stickers on a ride but I'm dying to show off where I've been. Is it a bad thing to put on stickers of places my X actually hasn't been?

What are your rules for adding stickers? My problem is I've got so many good ones I wouldn't be able to see out any of my glass... Decisions decisions...

Thanks,

Lucas

I like stickers as well. My coolers wear a lot of the stickers I get. I have a few stickers on the X like a Colorado Springs sticker, OBX and Tybee Island. Then a VAXC sticker.

I've started collecting patches from parks I've visited in the X. No where near as many as you have but I hope to get a bunch of them eventually.

As a general rule for place stickers on the truck, I like my X to have been there. I've actually been asked that by people I've met on the road "have you/your truck been all those places?" and I can confidently say, yep.

I also use my chuck box and odds and ends end up there, if the chuck box was on that trip or not.

I'm only using my rear cargo area side windows for stickers, you can't see out those from the drivers position anyway.

I do occasionally clean some off. Like recently a TNX sticker. I don't have any on the rear glass or door now and I'll probably keep it that way. Probably not even for a XN sticker.

Part of me does want to clear them all off, but it took me a while to build up my collection, so I hate to.

This is where I put mine as well. I do have a Nebraska "N" (GBR!) on the back window as well as a geocaching travel bug decal.

I figure that it is a whole lot easier to take the stickers off glass than off the body.

Rear windows, beer fridge, nalgene bottles, tool boxes, I've seen them under the hood and on the inside of the hatch as well. I'm not a fan of putting stickers on my paint but that's just me.

Not exactly stickers, but I have a hiking stick that was part of a tree from my late grandfathers land. The tree was a gathering place on our weekend retreats there. One day it was struck by lightning and the tree fell down so we collected a bunch of lumber from it and I made it into a hiking stick. When I go places I buy those medallions and attach them on the hiking stick.

I collect the stickers too from all the places I've been and like you haven't yet pulled the trigger on where/how to affix them.

Yeah, I like the look of clean dark windows, you know, with a cleaned up X as well. It just looks good.

Maybe I'm becoming my old man but when I see anything with a bunch of stickers it makes me think they've got to be young. Eh, becoming an old man ain't so bad..

I've started collecting moral patches and have 4-5 up on the headliner, I'm kinda bummed cuz as a kid I collected patches that had to be sewn on, no hook n loop..

I think I'll pull them all out sometime and pick a few favorites to put on. I think a few neat or meaningful stickers look good. Until then I'll ride clean~

I had a can of whoop ass on my bumper. Liked it there because it was also over a dent. Only problem was getting it to adhere to the bed liner.

I've lost some really good ones on the beer fridge and numerous tool boxes thru the years. Makes me wanna hold onto them vs slap em on and loose them after awhile...I should've collected patches instead, haha..

I like stickers, and i like them even better when they are weathered and worn in a bit. But lately i have started putting them on my cooler, thinking about doing mostly event stickers on the cooler tho

I have a friend at work that has a gazillion brewery stickers on his rig but only ones that the rig has been to. Stickers are for fun. Use em if you like em.

I dig the cooler and action packers for misc stickers. I think that's where they'll be put from now on..

I stickered up the first little tool box my Dad gave me and the top of it is still on the work bench in the basement. I haven't stickered up my 41" Craftsman boxes and I don't think I'm going to. But I started stickering my coolers after I had one stolen at camp. Really pissed me off to lose that cooler. Hell, I'd have fixed them the steaks in the cooler while they drank my beer as camp etiquette requires if they'd have just f'n asked...

I am an old man, at least according to my kids. But I love stickers. Always hate when I sell a vehicle and the sticker collection from it goes bye-bye.
I only sticker glass on my truck now. Some stickers of clubs & organizations we belong to on the back but keep them to the corners. The right rear window is all breweries my wife and I have visited. The other side has gear manufacturers stickers (might clean those off as I don’t have a lot of that gear.)

The stickers help my Xterra stand out from the other ones in town. But am getting into the patch game.

Oh and the Mother in law hates the stickers so they will be there for a while.

I dont like generic stickers. Each has to mean something to me, not just some sticker boi shiat. I put most of them on my toolbox, but the X gets some. I havent ever been able to pull the trigger and stick my supporting member stickers on the windows, but I think I might now. My rear window only gets the same set up I put on every X, that I just ordered again for this one. (previous X pictured) To your original point, I would put any sticker on your X if you have been there, regardless if the X has. I struggled with that and my VW camper, but finally decided if I hiked it or camped it, I get to display my sticker, even if the Bus wasn't there.
