I get why unions were created. I do see where there's some benefits today, but mostly I'm "why are these still a thing?"

Job security for one..... can’t be fired for any old reason the man decides that day.

Literally every normal thing any of you enjoys on a daily basis, from an 8 hour day, to breaks, OT, holidays, and health insurance came by way of Unions.

Think of it as a way that the every day worker bee can take home some of profits (through higher wages) that would normally go into the hands of shareholders and CEOs who did nothing to earn it.

The Union run apprenticeships provide training to people while they work and earn a living. They help maintain what raises are offered in industry like mine. The Unions he are having to fight to keep what benefits we have now. The company wants to take away our offer 16hr premium pay, stick us on decidedly lacking company health insurance, and circumvent seniority so they can put who they want in the union jobs.

There are down falls such as also protecting some pretty sorry ass people but I've seen the same crap from non union shops as well. But overall, unions existing make it better for everyone. If it didn't, would the government be fighting so hard to break them up?

"I don't always drink beer, but when I do", it's a Stout. No fancy assed flavored nonsense, just stout.

I'm kind of a simple dude, I like coffee flavored coffee, as long as it's French Roast, and potato flavored potato chips. All those weird flavor things everyone does just ufck it all up IMO.

Love stouts. But usually only in winter. Can drink Guinness all day.
