So, time for inspection and emissions. Went to the shop Sat morning and they said muffler and flex pipe was leaking. On the way to Autozone for new y pipe and muffler, my service engine soon light came on. Pulled the code and got P0110 for IAT sensor. Read up and first step was reset and see what happens. Then went for oil change and my air filter was nasty. It's a K&N so cleaned and re-oiled. Thought that may have been the culprit but light came back today. Haven't run the code but assume it's the same. IAT is cheap and easily accessible. Just replace it? Anything else I should do? Already installed the exhaust parts, just need to tackle this so I can get my new sticker.

Replace the sensor. It's easy and cheap. Is it still in the factory resonator?

Only a real asshole of a shop will fail you for a check engine light. So long as everything else is good. But since you said that they failed you for a leaky Y-pipe, they'll probably fail you for codes too. Honestly, do you have a code reader? Go in there and wipe it clean right before they do the inspection. That way you can get a sticker and fix it on your own time.

It is still in the factory resonator and I have removed baffles and plugged the openings. Will that affect it? I did that mod over a year ago. I don't have a reader, I stopped at the parts store and used theirs. I may swing by and wipe the code then knock out inspection.

Got this taken care of today. Popped in the new sensor, cleared code, then went for emmissions. But, didn't have enough miles after clearing the code, OBD wasn't showing ready for testing. Didn't realize the computer needed the time. They said take it for a ride and come back. Made a lazy loop through some farm roads and went back. All set. Was a bit worried I'd have an issue because of the long tube headers and deleted front cats. Passed so got two more years until I need to worry again.

Wow I'm really glad that I don't have to get emissions tested. I expect many check engines in my future. (High miles and questionable background)
