@Prime - the superbright LEDs that i bought for the AC control area....work!

They are "NEO4-NWHP: 4mm NEO4-xHP Natural White"

...and these 'natural bright' ones are significantly bright enough that even though they are much shorter than the OEM Blue Tube incandescent ones, they still put out much more lumens.

There is a problem tho: i got the one oem blue tube replaced that is easy to get to, the one on the upper left. But now I need to remove the AC control unit to get to the other one, (in the middle, on the right). So, QUESTION: how do i remove the AC control unit?

Ok, so the instrument lights went out. Why can't I find replacement bulbs or the whole instrument cluster? My Xterra is an '03.

@XioCon there are replacements for the instrument cluster bulbs, both the three illumination lights - the two black and one brown ones, and the smaller, individual warning lights.

The three illumination lights can be found at superbrightleds with this part number: 194-NWHP5-PC: Natural White. Just make sure you get the one that has a plastic wedge base and has just one LED.

There are bagillions of LED's on superbrightleds, so its best to take one of the bulbs out of the instrument cluster to compare it against the ones on the superbrightleds website. Also good to take metric measurements and check them against the specs page for the LEDs you think may fit.

There's 4 or 5 screws that come out and then you have to disconnect the cable that operates the hot/cold mixing door.
