Sliders removed and rockers are bed-lined... Today the sliders are going back on and I'm running a bead on the mount points to the frame. The sliders will become one with the truck!

My only concern would be since they are designed to take the hit or damage should you encounter it. If you had to replace them or one, removal for servicing them or anything else under may become troublesome. I've know people who've done so [welded] and they never had a complaint, other's wished they hadn't. From many manufactures like Shrockworks, Rockyroad, etc they say you can weld them but often depending on who you talk to and the type of vehicle you'll get mixed feelings about welding them on.

I do know some vehicles we deal with in specifics like Ford Rangers and their C-frame, its strongly advised by many companies to not weld on the frame as doing so hampers the metals ability to control flexing properly [despite ours and thousands of others argument of a suspension should flex not a frame, it works for the Ranger platform] and oddly has an affect on the metals compensation to fight off corrosion aspects by altering the metal heat treating. I don't think Nissan has such an issue or process that would affect their boxed ladder frame setup, just pointing out some things become worse.

Just food for thoughts.

What brand are you running on your X Prawn?

That's good info brother, thanks! I do however have an angle grinder, and access to an enormous weld shop. I'm a union dude. So I'm not skiddish when if comes to metal fab. Hell, one of these days I'm going to fab up some safari doors for the X. They are Rocky Road SuperSliders, and I didn't get a chance yesterday to put them back on. My buddy and I had so many issues to deal with regarding the bumper on his Dodge. Everything that could have gone wrong did!

But his wife bought us bacon cheeseburgers from Wendy's, and bacon makes everything better. And Scotch. Scotch is a gift from gobble.

Much like Dame Judy Dench's M in Goldeneye, I prefer bourbon. To each his own.

As others have pointed out, welding on a prestressed frame may not be wise. The ladder frame was probably stress relieved after it was completely fabricated and welded up to equalize the crystalline structure in all the heat affected zones near the welds. Adding further welds without stress relieving high tensile steel can lead to locallized brittle areas. I hesitate to say "WILL lead to" as I do not know what type of steel the frame is constructed of. But if I had to guess, I'd say it's a high carbon alloy, and that makes welding a more complicated procedure than just striking an arc and burning it in. Just my two cents.

I'd have to check again but I thought there were certain sliders that required welding, or am I incorrect? Hmmm, just checked and the Rugged Rocks "weld on" sliders are "welded on" to a mounting plate. You guys may be on to something. I'm just not entirely at ease with the mounting points for the Rocky Road Supersliders and was hoping to fortify them better.

Good call. Go with white knuckle. I will be doing the same for when BL is done.

Depending on how much I have to trim the fenders I may just end up keeping the Rocky Road. Unless of course I BL. Speaking of which, are there ABS sensor extensions for when a lift gets too high? Apart from brake lines, what else needs to be extended?

Rad hose needs done as well. I have not heard of ABS needing done.

I believe you can extend the wires. Just cut and extend to whatever you want. That being said, I run 4" suspension all the way around with the Titan swap and never had an issue(except when an iceberg ripped one). Just unclip them from the brackets and there's more than enough slack.
