Mod day in RI. Changed out my diffs and AT with full synthetic. Fixed Dave's clanking spring, and installed a winch into Jessie's bumper. Productive day.

Snow day yesterday! Went tooling around for the morning pulling people outa snowbanks then headed over to the shop for a couple hours for a mod day. Had a nice little list.

Replace rear brake shoes, reseal gas tank sending unit, and fiiinnally install my IAB that's been sitting in my truck for 7 months.

Hit up the brakes first. Hey when the floor jack you have doesn't work, improv.
DxSens5.jpg

Come to find out, the new brake shoes give you the pin for the E-brake cable, but not the C-clip that really needs to be replaced... Went around in the snow storm to find a set. 5$ later.

Started removing the gas tank sending unit. (got to love the inspection port!) if you ever find your self removing this thing and just think you snapped bolts don't worry. I was freaking out first little bolt I pulled out. Haha I think we all were and didnt calm down till the 3rd one was out.

New gasket sealant and good to go! No more leaking.

Accented white. Yeah it's kinds the theme. Black white and mud!

Purple power came along to raise his gas tank skid after we did the 1" BL and engine tuck. Much better now.

So finally had a day where i sucked it up and removed one of the leafs out of the AC 3 pack.

I was having issues with my packs being too tight that the shackles kep inverting on full droop. So bad that on heavy breaking, they would invert. By taking the bottom one out on each, it seems to have fixed this issue. Theres a NEXterra run this weekend. Well find out then if its all good.

Thanks fink! She's defiantly getting there.

Next on the list are some sliders and some 33". Hopefully before ECXC!

Already getting some steering upgrades on their way. Then try my hand at rear tire carrier and front bumper.

So far just have a new Gear. Still looking into the steering. If I SAS in two years, I don't want to waste money on an upgrade, but I want something beaffier. Poss just upgrade bushings and TREs with all new ends.

So, was wondering in the Home Tepot yesterday picking up some tools, and passed by the plumbing isle.

First bad idea.

Well after 8 hours and ha-wacking with the BFH, phase one complete.

Coming off the stock air box, to a heavily modified 90* 3". (probably the hardest part was getting the 90* to mate to the removable part of the box.) Fit the black tube in and cut the 90 untill the 90 sits flush with the fender wall !Important.

The box like thing on the wall got in the way. Cut a piece out and reweld.

Dave P. as always, one of my biggest helps

Now it will bend nicely down into a channel for the pipe.

Test fit and all looks good

Strap is holding it in place and top tube test fit.

Another challenge we faced was the fender fitting. You really have to cut all the way down to the buldge. I taped it off following the snorkels lines and slowly cut more and more. Finished it off with some edging I have.

Painted and temp snorkel head on. Real one in mail.

Because of the firewall, my lines are limited to the current angle. Solution I've come up with is to heat up the tube with a heat blanket enough to slowly bring it closer to the A Pillar. This will keep it tighter on the truck away from tree branches.

Overall very happy with this mod!
Specially for the price.

Just to give this little guy an update, the weather is getting nicer, and that means the mod bugs usually rolls in strong around now.

Had some time, so I updated my DIY snorkel. Took a new pipe, and heated it up to give it just a dash of bend. 20 minutes with a heat gun and patience, lots of patinece gave me the perfect bend. Hit it up with a great coat of paint and she came out real nice.

The PVC snorkel head is growing on me. i tried to pick up a E-bay head but its a dash too small (just won't fit the 3" pvc pipe) also kinda stands a little high with the 45* bend. So keeping the other one for now.

Not in the Way at All

Next is some tires. Going with 33x12.5x15's sittin on some cheepo 15x8x4.5" craiger's. Expect some cutting. Something im getting use to. hehe.

After that I may go the skidrow to custom swing out bumper once summer hits, thanks to Xtacular and Silver Dude's idea over on CX. Getting more welding on under my belt, and well see. By that time if steel prices come down, ill look at doing full custom.

nice man! I've been trying to come up with a decent mount for the galaxy 10.1 but haven't invested much time into it yet... I might have to now. Looks good!

Haha thanks Dave. Came back to my truck on a trail ride and found it hanging there. Brenda running joke ever since!

Guess its time to actually get myself a spare that fits. Leaning towards the 285/75/16 treadwrights. Can't beat en for the price.

Amazing products. Should fix the galaxy no problem. They have two options, Locking and Non Locking.

lock28a.jpg

http://www.ram-mount.com/NewProducts/TabCradlesLargeTablets/tabid/4257/Default.aspx

then they have different mounting options.

I've talked my boss into buying a couple types to try out and well be ordering them shortly (trying to see if we want to be a dealer or not)

We aren't the RAM Mounts at the company I work for. They make a great mount. Also, PANA VISE is a good too. If you want I can get you our reps information.

On another note what app are you using for the trails?

Bio, you say You sell them too?

Rep info would be great!

I'm using the motionx app on my iPad. It's great for tracking your trails and gathering other info. You can DL the maps locally for off network use too.

Couple updates this week.

Had to replace my calipers pads and rotors. The slide bolts were seized and didn't want to deal with it.
Replaced these little bitties

Then on my way home Wednesday, my upper radiator barb snapped. 217k miles and a body lift will do that. Used that chance to upgrade to the SC radiator.

Got bored after helping a buddy install struts in his explorer. Full detailing of the truck with a wash and wax.

Got adventurous and joined the plastic dip band wagon. Wheels came out really good.

Short GF. When not wheelin they get slapped on until I build up some sliders.

I know I know, it's great to watch her jump up, but she was so happy the day I tossed then on, it's hard to say no.

LoL i wish i would have thought of that! I have to get dressy dressy for work.. most of the time in skirts or dresses. I believe I have mastered getting in and out of the truck without showing the good! Its comical to watch people watch me getting in and out though. Its like they're waiting for a good vajaja sighting lol
