When is it time to change the shocks and struts on a 2003 Xterra? It has 170,000 miles on it. The ride is not all that bad but seems it could be better. This is my first Xterra and I believe they are the original shocks/struts. Thanks for any help and advice.

Reporting back...It took me two weeks to get to this but Nissan3161 was correct in that it was the air bag control module underneath the center console. I went to our local junk yard and pulled one out of a 2004 Xterra that had not had the air bags deployed...$12.00! Took the dash/center console...

Checked fuse and it is good. Can you tell me or send me a link to where the sensor connections are? The air bags were replaced. Might just be that the mechanic didn't connect them.

OK...tried this numerous times, at least 10, and nothing has changed. The light remains constantly on and after completing this procedure it will not blink to give me a blink code or clear it. What would cause this light to stay on all the time?
