How to: Extend your rear diff breather

You can also get the nipple on Ebay for less than 11 bucks shipped. I used fuel hose from Autozone. https://www.autozone.com/plumbing-hosing/rubber-hose/continental-3-16in-fuel-and-emissions-hose/4953

I used the same type of mount on my first gen. I started out with the mounting screws that came with it but found that the mount moved a bit when under pressure since the holes are larger than the screws. I replaced them with #14 x 3/4" hex head sheet metal screws which are about 1/4" in diameter.

Yeah, I thought about taking them off but for one thing, I live in Florida where there are few rocks to crawl over. I do go offroad but here the obstacles more involve mud, rutted sandy or muddy hills, logs, sugar sand, etc... Also, I find them useful for loading the rack and if I take them off...

Well, it looks newer, anyway. They call it matte but I'd say it's more of a satin finish. I tend to like a more flat finish on truck trim but I guess this looks a little more like a factory finish and it'll be easier to clean the mud off. After looking at the photo, I think I'm going to paint...

Well, I said I'd post pics when I painted the trim: The rear (before I painted the rest, including the door handle):

I haven't painted the plastic yet but I finally got my 18-year-old CB installed along with my snazzy new Firestik antenna.

Yeah, I'd say flat black would go with any color. I'm still trying to find time to paint mine but the daily thunderstorms we've been having lately aren't helping.

tedh1979, thanks for the recommendation - I'll keep it in mind for the future. Fortunately, I've managed to eradicate the smell already. Prime, I agree about the black looking good but if someone likes the gray, I can understand that as well. As far as the Rusto Professional, it is good paint...

That bumper and trim paint is listed on Home Depot's site as coming in grey but I checked there and on the Rustoleum site and it looks like it might be discontinued. The thing about the bumper and trim paint is it is good for both metal and plastic which is not usually the case for paints. You...

Yeah I've been touching up the paint here and there but otherwise it's pretty good. Obviously, the exterior trim all needs attention. The interior is good too with a some slight staining on the seats which I can probably reduce and one cigarette burn hole in the passenger front seat, which bugs...

tedh1979, yeah I looked at the photos you posted and your truck looks pretty good except for that rear bumper. I haven't had time to paint the bumpers and trim yet. I see what you mean about the fender trim, it does look lighter than the rest. It also looks like you have more of a gray trim...
