Here is one of mine. Got it at Pirate Tattoo Reno Aug 2009.

I used to be a big cat zookeeper and got the tat as a remembrance of the work I did with big cats. And for the fact that I am obsessed with dinos and the like and felt a Pleistocene mega-fauna tat such as an anatomy drawing of Smilodon fatalis, i.e. saber tooth cat, would be the best choice. Yep, I'm a science nerd.

all of my 16 are hidden basically.
tops of feet. outter side of heels, both hips, both ribs, underside of both wrists, nap of my neck, inner lip, tailbone and of course the tramp stamp. The two new ones are going on the insides of my ankles and will be estimated to the size of the top of a solo cup in size.

Calf always hurts. That's where my only tat is and it was very painful. Maybe because I have tough skin on my legs, but it felt like the needle had trouble piercing my skin. Has anyone played Portal on PC, XBOX 360 or PS3? I have a "The Cake is a Lie" tattoo.

Getting them done i was actually falling asleep seeing i was laying on my stomach with a pillow. My boyfriend was shocked. He did the anchor side first then went onto the other. The 2nd leg although it didnt hurt it made my knee twitch for some odd reason. But i also had people tell me that my tailbone, feet, nape of my neck and ribs would hurt. None of which really did. But the owls on my feet sucked the next day. FUBAR1217 (was dating him at the time) ended up having to pull me up and out of bed the next morning. My feet were worse then a prego womans. I must just have a high pain tolerance, I ended up not taking pain pills after either of my knee surgeries either.

Here's mine, now it's got old school hotrod flames around it, not the stupid clamshell flames. I just need to get the color put in. I have plans of a memorial tat with my Sister Trish sitting in her '55 Merc (chopped, channeled, slammed in raw steel finish) flipping the bird. She was murdered 3 years ago and the rest of my family have all gotten the little marine stars, even my father. I just can't do stars.

Awesome ink jobs!!

I really want ink, badly. So far I am a blank canvas. Finding a parlor with a good reputation and artists that won't screw up is my only concern.

I have always been a huge fan of Sailor Jerry style art.

I've got four tattoos.
If you're in Denver, CO you MUST go see The Fallen Owl Tattoo for your next ink! THEY ARE THE BEST!!!
Adam Rose @ the Owl did my 4th, and is by far the best experience I've ever had. They are super cool and actually care about you.
All the artists there are AMAZING.

This was my first, I got these when I was 18, and like most 18 year olds got it for pretty much no reason lol.

This was my second. It is Voltaire (the philosopher) - "Chance is word void of sense; Nothing can exist without cause."

This was my third tattoo and came about on a day my best friend and I were extremely bored, so we got matching tattoos lol

This is my favorite. It is a tribute to my Native American heritage. It will eventually be a complete sleeve.

Where are they in Denver? I've never heard of 'em. I would like to find someone good at color to finish up my flames on my shoulder. If they could pull that off, I'd be in for my other plans.

Ooooo now I REALLY like that idea. Looks awesome. Cannot wait to see it finished. :)

I plan to get another tat- a medic alert on my right wrist since I am tired of my bracelets breaking all the time. Just cannot decide on a design...or find an artist I wanna go to around here...may just have to go back to Reno, haha!

They are in Lakewood. Between Kipling and Wadsworth on Colfax. They are seriously amazing, and would HIGHLY recommend them! All their artists over there are incredible and do amazing color work. My whole family goes there lol we're well known at the shop.

I knew someone who had a medic alert tattoo, it was awesome. I have drawn up a couple tattoos for people, and designed all mine. If you want I could try to draw something up in a couple different designs? PM me? I've got an thread under General Discussions with my art if you wanted to check it out lol

Lots of nice ink. I'm partial to the Smilodon of the first poster, I love the mix of skeleton and flesh. I'm a zookeeper of 12+ years and currently am in charge of Tigers, Snow Leopards, Amur Leopards, Grizzly Bears, Brown Bears and Polar Bears as well as Red Pandas. I have no ink of any animals I've worked with. All of my ink is of Ancient Egyptian design. My first of Anubis was done back in 1996, then the rest were all done between 2000-2004 by Anil Gupta. The photos are all old.... I feel so old now. :shucks:

Hey thanks! Wow, yours are AMAZING! I've always love Ancient Egyptian art. I have the Eye of Horus on my ankle incorporated into a tribal design I made back in 2004. Woohoo another fellow zookeeper! I only volunteer as a zookeeper now (@Zoo Boise) since my current job takes up too much time to be FT.

I've actually been asked a few times while at work (I work in LE) if my tat is a prison tat. Too funny!! Then again, you all should realise I tend to deal with less than intelligent people on a frequent basis. :p

I have five, but this is the only one I care enough about to share. Sorry for the crappy pics. Its Gadsden Flag/ Ben Franklin inspired. I got it in 08 before it was cool to have a Gadsden Flag tat. I am very big into Military and and early American history. And at the time I was reading a lot of stuff about pre revolutionary war era. I took personal feeling toward what criteria inspired the Gadsden flag. The snake is a Eastern Timber Rattlesnake which can only be found in North America and was chosen because of that,.It was also chosen because when you encounter one in the wild the snake will leave you alone as long you leave it alone. If you chose not leave it alone and disturb it, it will rattle its tail and take a specific posture to warn you not to mess with it. Only when the snake has been prevoked and threatened will it strike. If you dont see the symbolism then well... The text on the bottom is "Dont tread on me", which I took as interpretation of leave me the F alone.

I'm not sure if he if he is still around but when I was at Fort Hood I used to go to Dave's Master Tattooing in Killeen. I know he was talking about retiring but I haven't been in years so I'm not sure if he did. If your feeling frisky at nXm and felt like going to Nashville before or after you could check out Black 13. I've only heard good things about them.

This is my work in progress. I have some touching up to do but this is how it looks now. I never intended on this being a full piece till after the first dragon was put on so it doesn't exactly flow as if it were to have been drawn at the same time, nevertheless it has a lot of meaning to me behind it. The legend is a Koi turns into a dragon after swimming upstream and becomes a protector. So the dragon on the outside represents my father, the one on the inside being my grandfather (gold tooth and all), and I'm the Koi with the sprocket on it's head. The waterfall is my journey upstream through life, with my father and grandfather watching out for me. The back is my twist on a Hannya mask which can have many meanings usually involving an evil. jealous woman, in this case my ex-wife.
