Switched out the bolt handle this morning and went to range. So much smoother extraction with the slight angle change in the handle. After shooting stripped it back down and took bolt to gunsmith for fluting.

here is the handle;

Honestly, the wait on the ATF to approve the paperwork is the only real pain. If you have a good gun guy he can take your $$ for the can and your 200$ tax stamp and file the paperwork for you. Then it's a 6-12mo waiting game.

I get it tho. ~1000$ is a lot for 1 caliber but that's why you pick a caliber you have several platforms in..

Why is choosing a red dot sight for a pistol so hard
good video.. on info

When watching your buddy draw his side arm with Red dot.. He had to blow the dust bunnies off the lens then engage the target.. He changed holster to protect from bunnies..

I tried them.. 500 rounds roughly.. Eh.. Nope!.

Iron sights.. Old school.. Muscle memory. Ain't teaching old dog new Whiz Gizmo! ;-)

very informative video.

that being said. Living in Canada having to blow the dust bunnies and crap off of your sights happen any ways since we are not allowed to concealed Cary this pistol is purely a range queen. I need to replace the rds that came on my last pistol. It keeps shutting off every couple rounds and on e that happens it takes 10-15 minutes to get it to turn on again

Really contemplating the Burris Fastfire 4. Found a gun store in Toronto that has it in stock for $490. And is a 10 minute walk from where my hotel is. Definitely a tempting to go see it to help make up my mind if I want that one or the Vortex

Well today was an expensive morning for me. Went to the gun store that was 10 minutes from the hotel. Walked away with an 8lb keg of Tightgroup and that Burris Fastfire 4 that I went to go look at. It was their last one and I couldn’t leave it there alone. Looks like with the newly acquired powder and rds. I need to make up some rounds and go sight in the new toys. Plus im Picking up the last pistol I bought in Oct before the big ban on sale and transfers of pistols came into effect. Looks like I’m capped to the ones I have until the conservatives get into office ( hopefully sooner rather than later)

Nice! What pistol you get this time? What's the new sight going on?

Well. Been playing around with the idea of getting a new stock and hand guard for the SKS that was given to me late last year. That or sand this one down and stain it. I've never done the sanding staining and stuff on a firearm. That or I see that guy on a different forum has the stock and hand guard on sale for $75. Not sure what to do

Both. You'll love the after market polymer stock and you'll have fun refinishing the old stock and making it your own. It's easy. I'm pretty sure Midway sells a stock refinishing kit still.
