So, back to the topic of fridges......I just stumbled on this deal on amazon. I'm betting this is a typo, but you can't even get a decent cooler for the price of the 50L fridge.....

50L Fridge:

30L Fridge:

At that price, who cares if it breaks in a year or two?
Also, just happened to check these and now on sale and even cheaper.

I know some have mentioned they like these tool boxes... they're currently $20 at my local Home Depot, although they show as $25 on the web site:

I picked up a couple today to try out. Not sure if I'll use them in the Xterra(s) or for other purposes but $40 for two of them was too hard to pass up when I saw them in store. The larger box that they can stack with was $30.

Regarding those rigid tool boxes. I have them and love them. I really wish they were 20-in boxes though. Two of the big boxes don't fit lengthwise side by side in the back of the X very nicely.

Appreciate the heads-up, I got two of them. Also saw the rolling tool cart that supports them marked down $75 to $60 on-line, and just like you at the store it was marked down further to $50. Cart with 2 stacked boxes $90 plus tax, fits in back with room to spare. Great deal - Thanks!

Stillen has a flash sale on all intakes, 10% off with code AIR10 through 8/31/2022. The Xterra/Frontier/Pathfinder one already shows a discount, so should come out to ~$300 plus whatever they charge you for tax and or shipping. Not a totally killer irresistible deal, but figured I’d share in case some might be interested.

Is a recovery rope better or not as good as recovery strap?

My intuition is that a 3/4 inch rope is not enough.

Thoughts?
The rope is designed to stretch so that it adds momentum/kinetic energy and lets you yank somebody out with a running start without a jolt and apply more force than just pulling with a strap. The general rule is you take three times the weight of your vehicle and go next size up for the rating. The 3/4" is 24,500 lbs, and the next size up (7/8") is 38,000 lbs for full size trucks. The problem with getting the bigger rope is that while it's stronger, your truck won't be able to actually generate the stretch and it will effectively be just like a regular snatch strap. If you do the running start it would be a huge shock force.

Thanks ffxcore. Matt the tow truck driver suggests that the less expensive and less voluminous strap might be good enough for weekend warriors.
Definitely agree. I’ve used a tow strap once but luckily haven’t had to use a snatch rope or strap yet. With this particular deal though the rope is cheaper than an average strap. But probably bulkier.

Is it made by Iceco? Looks like the same outer part but didn’t see any reference. This model uses a Huayi compressor rather than the Danfoss that Iceco (and Dometic, etc) uses.

It is. They're part of the same company, at a minimum.

It's my understanding that everything about the aj series fridge is identical to the iceco jp series, with the exception of the compressor.

This fridge is more or less going to live in my X, and the 40L fridge I currently have will go in the trailer. Eventually, I want to pick up either a setpower rv45s, or an iceco 45L fridge to live in there.

3/8" Ridgid 225 ft. lbs. impact wrench $55

With battery and charger $80

Use code SPIRIT20 for free shipping

They also have the 1/2" version (same torque specs) for slightly more. These are "factory blemished" as opposed to refurbished, which means they still qualify for the lifetime service agreement. I have purchased several "factory blemished" items from DTO and honestly couldn't tell them apart from what would be sold as brand new.

I have one of these little impact wrenches and it's pretty nice. Very lightweight and compact, but enough power to easily remove Xterra lug nuts and most other fasteners I've tried.
