Truck averages around 21-22 mpg highway when not towing.

Before I was into nissans, before I was into fords, I was into isuzu's, and its deff not everybodys style, but it was good enough to make mini truckin magazine back in the day and what work was done, was well done, and one of my old isuzu friends reached out to me to see if I could transport one of his isuzu builds back to him. So, I hooked Eff Juan v6.0 (I've had 6 f150's over the years) to a trailer and did my thing

Drove from Albuquerque NM, to Gallup to pick up my trailer, then to arlington tx to pick up the isuzu, then to hickory nc where I dropped it off and got paid.
All in all, about 4k miles in 3 days, saw the great smokey mountains (they are, well, great) and the truck did great, put it in tow haul mode, set the cruise on 75 and averaged about 17 mpg, deff one of my favorite road trips even if it was a lot of driving and I didn't really stop other than at the old shiloh battlefield which has a very eerie feeling to it.

Got back, planning on a wrap of sorts (just some striping) bed liner, factory brake controller, and hopefully some tow mirrors as the factory units suck.

All in all, very impressed with my new truck

and then I took it in for its first oil change and unfortunately, the dog in the commercial for the f250 looks like mine so

Far from something you need a 3/4 ton diesel for but its first pull
1650861538367.png
as expected, for probably about 6k total, pulled like a dream, still a bit impressed with it tho, going up the steep climb out of abq with the cruise on 75, needed to speed up to pass someone, a little bit of throttle, look down and its running 89 mph, up hill, with a head wind, with a load, and it never even broke a sweat

Man that trucksarossa kit was the shiat back in the day. I was an avid minitrucker as a yoot. Some of the best times ever were had in my B2200.

Nice. My in laws are train nerds so we went to see the 4014 and 844 a few years ago for the Golden Spike 150th anniversary in Ogden. Very impressive!

did the fuel and air filters on the diesel for the first time, despite $400-$800 kits to convert it to a traditional spin on filter in both locations, I had no trouble, did the whole thing in the parking lot at work in like 15 minutes (mostly waiting for the water seperator to drain)
I see no reason to switch from the oem set up

Silverton is one of the most awesome places in the world. So many cool place to 4 wheel or bike. Spent a good part of every summer in the 70s and 80s down there doing “research”. Wow you got to Animas forks and lake como and appear to have gotten to lake city for gas. Did you do all that in one day on your bike?

Silverton is my favorite place, Ive been going up there since I was 12, it was where I first sat in the drivers seat of a jeep and learned how to 4 wheel, been doing that and bikes ever since.
I started out hurricane (off of cement creek) rode corkscrew to the high way, turned around, went up hurricane to como, california gulch to animas forks, engineer to lake city and engineer back
not bad for an afternoon

Ok, dang that would be epic in a 4wd for one day, much less on a bike! You are way tough! I think I was 8-10 and parted with some of my hard earned (or not) cash to buy a little card with bits of rocks and ore on it in Silverton. Road the train etc etc. Took another decade to figure out I was genetically a geologist. Spent 3 summers riding the Train to work in the Needle mountains and getting drunk at Romeroʻs......great times. Have you been over Stony Pass and up Bear Creek to Kite Lake? Thats an awesome place to camp, right on the edge of the wilderness. No fish in that lake due to mining but fly fishing along Bear Creek and the Rio Grande.

once upon a time I'm sure I did, stony isn't much fun to me due to it just being an extremely rough road more or less.

kinda surprised there isn't a nissan event there, I should do like gone and collect $100 a person (jokes)

I don’t think I can afford to ship mine from Hawaii for that. But it would be fun. Stony is good for a multi day adventure sort of thing. And very exciting in June during peak run off if you like water over your hood

Used it this weekend to move my grandpa's truck to my dads
Still no real challenge for ye mighty powerstroke
(76 F250)
hauling the jeep out (it has issues, its a jeep thing) but I needed the winch and a snatch block since this truck hasn't moved since grand pa died 6 years ago

So after its first trip to the dealership for a service, included in purchase, and not exactly being happy with it
1. I asked for 5w40 instead of the 10w30 standard fill as thats whats recommended for severe service and having them put in 10w30 anyway
2. they did a trans and coolant service on it too, but they still email me ever so often urging me to get it in so they can do the coolant flush even though I have a reciept showing I paid for them to do it

will be switching the truck to schaeffers otr 5w40, I'm usually a amsoil guy but I can buy schaeffers or redline off amazon and that means I don't have to go find my wallet to check out
next order of business: airbags and a turn over hitch, tires, bilsteins, delivering a 94 f350 to denver

just general maintenance time, been around diesel trucks my entire life but it takes some getting used to changing 13 quarts vs 4 in the x

Nothing has really happened with ye super duty, just basic maintenance, some bilstein 4600’s be waiting in the bed, will get a gooseneck and air bags soon enough. Did use it to unfortunately transport my 77 f250 to its new owner, close to 10k in weight and it never broke a sweat 84B30AC5-5A30-4041-ACA8-35403575694E.jpeg
