People are gatekeeping grilling? So if you only light the charcoal and just cook some burgers but don’t spritz the coals and move them around to “control” the fire you’re also not grilling? Y’all are weird.

Grilling is when you cook using the grill. That’s it. The source of the heat isn’t relevant to the definition.
You control temp and fire with airflow, not spritzing the coals that stirs up ash

I had a shooting directly outside my place yesterday evening. I went out on my patio and got on the bench to see the local gang banger in his yellow hummer out in the parking lot screaming at some other black guy and girl with his pistol out waving. They hollered back and forth calling each other expletives over the bass still bumping in someone's ride for a few minutes before the hummer guy shoots over the other guys car again. ufckin ghetto, Jesus. I hollered that I had bigger guns than all of them and they needed to move theufck on, now standing on the table above my wall with saiga 12 in hand. I'll go into why IDGAF anymore in another section later. They left, cops came, I'm home. After they left found out the bass was other hoodlums watching from other cars. Now I'm a target.

Here too, can't remember what they wanted for it but it wasn't cheap. I gotta buddy dying to set a bucket of it off near his deer feeder so he can kill as many as he can. He musta watched that YouTube video..

If I had a little more land I would have all my parts cars up here. I know Dad wishes I would move them already but I just don't have anywhere to put them.
I have access to some land where i park my parts cars. It is quickly getting out of hand-ish.

The man who lets me park there is in his 80s. And he has a ton of junky cars on his own. And bunches that are cooler than mine. When he dies, Ill pass off the ones i dont want as part of his big passel of cars so his family can deal with them all.

Yeah, not kidding.

Technically this is correct. Same goes for frying, braising, roasting, baking, sautéing etc. All can be done with open flame from any source, or no flame at all from an electric source. What is actually indisputable is that flame from wood or charcoal adds a flavor to the meat. Which I do indeed like, however the time it takes to prep, start, ready, cool, and extinguish, is all ufcking night, and I'd much rather move on with my evening. I don't grill my meat for the overall experience of the process, I grill because I'm ufcking hungry and want to eat a steak... which takes me less than 20 minutes total on the grill, from lighting for pre heat to eating. ;)

This won't change the prep time but with a good grill you don't have to cool or extinguish anything. I let them die out on their own. Then reuse whats not complete ash on the next grilled meal

Yeah. It's rare I don't just close my vents up and walk away.

As for prep, stick my coals in a chimney and set it over a lit tumbleweed, then go inside and get the food prepped to cook. Dunno the coals and set up whatever method I'm using, put the grate on and close the lid. Go inside to get the food. When I come out with the food, brush the grate and start cooking.

Once I'm done, pull the food, close the vents and put on the lid. I'll put the grill up the next day after it is completely cool.

Found a solution to fill in the "curve" of the inside of the rear hatch. I ordered some of this stuff and will report back. I'll do a thin layer of sheet metal with my existing thick bars to sandwich a ziploc bag to the hatch, pour in this stuff, let it set, then peel away the bag, drill my four holes, and I'll be able to mount everything nice and tight with no buckling and added strength:
