@Prime Did you run Steel Bender?

And what the ufck are doing with the front sway bar still on?

5 years ago we gave @dixie1865 so much shiat on Metal masher for that, that he and I took it off during our lunch break. lol
... and I've been swaybar free ever since.

@Prime - mine was only connected on one side too. I destroyed yet another swybar end link and it was banging around. Rob couldn't believe I still had it on the X

What part is yellow jacket?

We did all of those. The caves were cool.
These ledges right here. The SxS's have chewed the crap out of these over the last few years... Just curious how bad they've become.

Just finished my second day of running trails. Was great!

Thank you to the organizers!

Who’s staying on Saturday, Sunday, Memorial day and wants to run blue-ish trails?

@Prime I think that’s sporty that ledge that Nick spotted us up, after the arch.

@IM1RU It wasn’t that bad, but a Chevy truck (maybe 1500?, I don’t remember right now) got hung up a little. It was probably a lot different a few years ago, before the SxS’s Here’s a pic of @Prime topping out on it.

This ledge.
No, not that ledge.

The ledges I'm asking about are 3-4 large steps down on the way to the arch from dewy bridge. There are two ways down, the right line side is straight shot down, but the last step is a 2-3 foot belly grinder for even rigs on 35's... going up would doing the trail backwards to end at Dewey (think silver stairs on Elephant Hill) but much steeper and shorter.

We did go down a series of ledges that Nick (Rogue Overland) spotted us through as we were leaving the cliffs on the Dewey Bridge side. Those weren’t too chewed up but there was a sketchy cheat developing.

Well, it's Friday evening and goneMOAB-21 is over ... sniff

It was a great week with nice weather and awesome trail rides.

My off-pavement driving skills have progressed a lot.
It was also my first time in Moab, what an wonderful location with so many activities (4x4, bicycle, rafting) available.

Thanks to the folks in charge of the organization! Great event !

It was great getting on a couple trails with you. Looking forward to the next time.

Thanks for helping with the Touareg on Bartlett. You played a crucial role in pulling him off that rock and getting me out of my headspace.

See ya down the road.

Was a good week! Thanks to everyone who came! And we'll see you next year!

Oh. And don't be like Lelan.

That's a hole in his differential housing. His ring gear decided to unbolt itself this morning. Luckily it happened in a parking lot and not on the interstate.

The X made it back home without any issues. The alignment is off and every skid, bumper and slider got a major workout. Awesome event and trail leaders and I will be back next year for sure.

A picture from each trail.

[...] broken leaf center pin.
Sorry, that brings so many questions:

How do you notice that? ins’t invisible in the middle of the leaf pack? what’s the effect?

How do you fix that? do you need a spare part? and somebody had the spare part?

How do you prevent it? change it preventively every 50K miles?

If I remember the story correctly, he noticed his rear tire rubbing. Realized that the entire drivers side of the rear axle had shifted aft about a foot.

This should never happen. There really isn't any preventative maintenance for this.

Yeah if I remember correctly that is how he noticed, the whole axle shifted backwards causing the tire to hit the body. Luckily we had a spare bolt that was the right length and he was able to make it back to town for a proper repair. You could see on the pin that it was wearing for awhile. Looked the leaves were shifting around.

Might be able to bump the u-bolt size up to get more clamping force for the heavier springs. They looked like 1/2 u-bolts so maybe it might be worth going to 9/16 or 5/8 from a heavier truck for the aftermarket springs with more load carrying. Just a theory though.

For future reference... a 3/8" socket cap bolt with a grade 8 nylock nut works better than any leaf spring center pin. AND they rated bolts, where as the center pin bolts are not.

Any Ace hardware should have them.

I have seen this once before..
