Well. Off to bed. Need to be up early ish tomorrow. Driving out an hour ish away to go pick up a set of steel rims for the truck. Not a bad way to spend $150 for 4 rims and 1/2 tank of gas. Will possibly look at installing the CB radio in the truck this weekend. Possibly go pick up a $20 magnet antenna until I will be able to I stall a more permanent one on the headache rack ( once I receive that too)
I was gonna offer u an antenna but I forgot it's tuned for GMRS . It was a good thought for a moment:(

What do you guys think about the older pathfinder 2005 -2011 for a mild off road use? I know they sell some off road parts for those too.

Well I just looked around online and an 05-12 could run from $3995-$14,000 , interior is darn close to the X . One site said they had an offroad pkg but in my QUICK search I found none. Nisstec seam's to have part's as it's pretty much the same as an X. Also has the same problems for the same year's so you know what ur dealing with [SMOD/TIMEING CHAIN/ETC/ETC ] I Didn't see a manual option when I looked up model's but that could be the site I was on:confused: Not quite an X but dam I like a moon roof :D Take one for a ride and see what you think , after all that's what matter's. See if the new part's would work on it but there's not a lot of diff in price that I saw. Some under/over valued . I wonder if you could mount one of those pop-up sleeper roof's on it like the old VW's had ??

Yeah, saw one with a blown motor for 1500. Should be a compatable swap. Hadn't thought of that before. Just opens up a little more market. I think they have independent rear suspension which doesnt help off road but should be okay for what i do.

Is that a SodaStream next year Christmas tree? How do you like it?
That it is. Love it. Helped increase the amount of water I drink up to 2-3 litres a day. Instead of drinking pop all the time. I like the fix. Specially since you can contrôle how much riz you get

Which one is that? We had a 4wd last Christmas that was awesome and incredibly fast, but after one too many crashes the steering is gone. I'm looking for a replacement for Christmas this year.

It's this one: https://www.redcatracing.com/products/tornado-epx-pro-1-10-scale-brushless-buggy

A day after getting it second hand from a coworker my son crashed it into a wall. A screw popped out of the suspension and we couldn't find it in the driveway, so I feel your pain. The next day he miraculously spotted the tiny black screw our large blacktop driveway. Back in business.

Any advice for a noob? Been kinda wanting one for awhile..

I'm kind of a noob myself. This particular model seems popular and is a great value for what you get. I think new they are around $250, but I'm sure you can find one on ebay for cheaper.

The most confusing part is how to properly charge a "li-po" battery. I watched a 30-minute YouTube video and was more confused than when I went in.

Pretty sure @AlbatrossCafe dips his toes in the R/C world, perhaps he'll chime in.

Yeah I have the Redcat Scout II. I'm not expert by any means... I bought the Redcat because it was the most value-packed, complete model you could buy. A lot of RC is like the real-world - people want to buy a base model and customize it. I really just wanted a plug & play without messing around with 0.1mm screws so I was happy with what I got.

Not sure what you are confused about with charging? I think people are making it confusing for the sake of making it confusing haha. I just bought a charger dedicated to a Li-Po battery and plug it in. An hour or two later it lights up "green" when it's done. Nothing more to it: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B073WSDCZM/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o09_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Redcats are ok for the price. If you are not sure you will spend enough time in the hobby to get a higher dollar one but the handling, power, reliability difference between them and say a Team Associated are night and day. I had a Redcat short course nitro truck and I really liked it. Then I bought a Team associated SC8 and never touched the Redcat again. The TA was head and shoulders better.

“The maximum permissible transmitted e.r.p. of GMRS-M devices shall not exceed 2.0 W.“

so. This in enssence means I am capped legally at 2.0W for a GMRS radio correct

After antenna gain, yes. As an example, one of my stations is licensed for 100KW. The transmitter puts out 33KW, and the antenna has a gain of about 5 dB to make that 100KW
