I wish that the Silverado forums where more like XN. Posted a question over a week ago and no answer. The post has had over 100 views but only crickets.

Thought I'd throw up a couple diff pic's from Southern outer bank's 3 day vaca . 1st/ oyster's grow wild here , if you leave ur swim ladder in the water you're ufcked...............2nd / Blue's, Spanish mackerel[ SOMEWHERE IN THERE] and a few False Albacore [ buh-nee-to].............3rd/ I looked at my dad and said there some wierd a$$ shaped boat's way over there , then when I used the binocular's I could see the car's/truck's/camper's hanging out on this long strip of beach that poke's out into the ocean from Cape Lookout . That could be a fun outing for an Xterra club with member's that fish/scuba dive or just like lounging on the beach ! Since I was there for only 3 day's I couldn't see $50 to drive on Atlantic beach but it would've looked nice parked in front of the house:)20201015_142816.jpg 20201014_141308.jpg 20201014_105806.jpg

This ol' boy took up most of my day between the hunt, kill, field dress, processing at home. I shot him in the heart at 150-200 yards, he dropped like a stone and expired extremely fast. I'm completely exhausted.

I had a nice ambush spot about 300 feet from my X hidden in some boulders and under a tree, I had excellent cover. This buck and a shiatload of does were walking toward me. I couldn't really ask for a more perfect hunt.

Beauty! Congratulations!

Probably going to need a similar bar stool when I get home. No adult beverages since 14 May

I know this mountain pass that was once used by weed smugglers that will take me straight to DoomX's house........ Give me a second here, I am practising my "Feed me!" look.

Haha, it's funny. This was my first "big game" hunt of my entire life and I'm 49. Never too young to start.... But I can easily see why after starting hunting, some people go off of store-bought meat. Good game meat is so much more delicious and full of flavor. Plus once you get the hunting bug, it's consuming.

^^^ Yep. and the Meat you eat from Big Game is Fresh. And you stalked, Shot, Butcher & Wrap/Freeze.. For later meals. Tasty...
Best part gets you in the outdoors, away from Cell phones, and The dam Gerbil wheel. Before sun rise, hunkered next to a tree or Rock. watching & waiting. If no game.. still Enjoyable!.

We have Cougars stalking yea, Now wolf's.. We humans are part of the Food chain. a good thing!!! ;-)

I spend a lot of time out in the mountains on public land. I'm either hiking, camping or target shooting. Now I'm hunting out there too. It's a lot of work, but rewarding.

My boss has had mountain lion backstrap, said it was awesome. I'm thinking about a winter leftover cow elk tag, but my wife would have to come with me. I want her too. My L4/L5 couldn't take processing an animal that size on my own.

Went out to go get lottery ticket's , put the key in ignition and as turning everything came on/light up like it's supposed to and then when turning the rest of the way ; NOTHING no noise/clicking/.nothing . Even the dash light's/radio everything in the dashboard went silent/dead . Probably tried 5-6 more time's and nothing but silence and darkness when turning ? Hooked up jumper cable's and immediately went right back and turned the key everything lit up and started ; But I am 99.95 sure ;;;;Okay a 100% sure the battery had nothing to do with it . I just drove to Atlantic beach and back and Odo ran like a champ Anyone have ANY IDEA'S ??? computer/brain ? maybe the ignition switch ? Anyone with a similar experience / I'm grasping at straw's here:confused::cool: and as always I appreciate anything anyone has to say ;)

OEM key or aftermarket? Does the red security light come on (car with a key in it)? If aftermarket and the red light comes on, might be the transponder in your key going.

Could be a bad power or ground connection. I had an intermittent no power issue on mine, it was a lose connection at the main fuse in the under hood fuse panel.

Check connectors for the battery, mine would do that. Make sure they are tight and check them every few months.

Thank's for the input everyone . Gonna steal the ole lady's Subie for work 2morrow ; then when I get home I'll check around the terminal's and the external fuse box and look at the wire's on the starter. If nothing found there I'll ask my neighbor to throw his code reader on and see if anything popped up. I've gone out and started it 4 more time's without issue but I'm not calling anyone at 5am to come get me so Subaru tuesday it is .I'll check back 2morrow afternoon for any more idea's !! THANK'S AGAIN """""""""""

OEM key's have both of the original 3 button pad's and seem to function fine , I'll keep this in mind !
Battery terminal's were cleaned and had the purple colored electrical contact stuff done 2 month's ago , but that was 2 month's ago so everything will be scrutinized !!

what type of battery are you running? I had a bad cell in my OE battery that acted similar when the temps dropped. Once I got it running and warmed up it was fine

I had an Interstate put in with the highest CCA for it's size when I had the new to me motor put in after Odo sucked some of that nasty catastrophic converter dust back in and took out the bearing's and ring's:mad::( It dose happen , I found out first hand:confused: I got side tracked !! Battery is less than 2 year's old. With those temp's where you live in winter do a lot of people run a 2 battery set-up or just go with the block heater ? or both:cool:

Could still be a bad cell causing your issues. Or bad connections. Worth a look

and as for my X( when I had it) in the coldest days/nights of winter the block heater was always plugged in. There was even block heater plugs at work for people to plug in their vehicles

Single battery. And the block heater only really helps in that there is less friction trying to start it, so it takes less from the battery. Doesn't help the battery itself. The batteries do lose capacity if they get too cold and lose charge, the less charge they have, the higher the freezing point (most are -70 or -80ish Freedom units at full charge, -20 at low charge).
