Glad to be home.

@Gen X dropped by and grabbed my old C200K today.

Started pulling my t-case today. Got the drive shafts out and started pulling the exhaust. Sheared one flange bolt and stripped the flats off another. One on each converter. I've got to pull both now and drill out the studs for bolts....

Every time I set out to do something on the X it leads to more time and money..

Yep. That's what makes them project vehicles...
Yea, I'm feeling like I bit off more than I can chew. Well, with my new "project". I ended up making the deal on the '86 K30. The old guy put a charger on the batteries and it fired up. It'll be trailered to my job where I can actually work on it. (HOA)
Now I'm researching my first SBC 350 and driveline to see what all the fluid specs are to do an all around fluid change before firing it up again.

That's my past. Came from a 84 K5 Blazer. Some days I really miss the old Full Size Chevy stuff. I would love to find a 1st Gen K5!

Got the down pipes out. The driver's side rear cat shows some plugging. The passenger's side looked better, but still some of the comb was plugged.

Gut them and move on our dump $200 into the Thorley B pipes and recycle these.....

What's a recyclable cat worth?

Not really sure honestly.

If they are OE you can get some decent money. When I scrapped the four off my 1st gen I got $110.

Glad to meet you and thanks for the axle. Turns out the shop said it was in better shape than mine. Apparently my fluid was showing some wear, it was recently changed but dirty. Instead of using @TerryD's axle for the shaft I needed, decided to have them swap it out completely.

Nice to meet you too man! Glad you're gonna get use out of that axle. Did you wind up taking the ride across the mountain?

We did ride over the mountain. Such a nice ride. Loved the area, have never been down that way before. I'd definitely like to get back that way for wheelin', camping, and fishing.

The new transfer case is in and test driven. So much better!

Gonna run this cheap ATF through it for a few days then change it over to Amsoil.

Rear output looks like it might have a slight leak. I'll have to look into that.

Put a new rear driveshaft CV on since my old one was pretty worn.

Got the old case torn down today.

The forward front output bearing was apparently spinning in the case so the case is wasted. Anyone need any parts from the t-case?

Otherwise the new case seems to be doing good.

CEL is still coming on for the passenger converter. That's really ticking me off. Almost to the point of getting some Thorley's long tubes for it. Anyone selling a set cheap?

Rear output seal is weeping a little. Not a big deal. Otherwise things seem good. When I change the fluid in a few weeks, I'll swap the seals and boot and that should take care of it.

I'm having some issues with a primary cat. Things only a few years old but Magnaflo basically told me to pound sand. I guess it's the last of their stuff I buy...

Engine doesn't use oil, PCV system is in good working order, no misfires or any other driveability issues. I've swapped sides with both up and down stream O2 probes and the problem stays with the Bank 1 primary cat.

Debating losing the cats completely and going with Doug Thorley long tube headers and just wash my hands of them completely. Could have done that last time but I chose Magnaflow converters hoping they'd get me to 300k miles. No such luck.

If/when I need cats, I'm definitely doing DT long tubes. I put them on my 1st Gen and they were amazing. Extremely well built, a breeze to install (body lift was key), and definitely helped the engine breathe better.

There's no sniffer test. Just can't have the CEL illuminated.
One of r old Subaru's CEL light came on before emission's [ tank/fuel sensor ] I wasn't gonna pay the $550-600 to drop the tank so I had the computer thing reset. I took it there and passed . Drove around nearly 2 year's then when it was time to go thru emission's again did the same thing . This time the tech came up and said I would have to drive it for at least 10 day's then bring back for testing :( He knew it had been reset recently . Well I parked it and waited out the time then took it back and then they said I hadn't drove it enough mile's ?? Light came back 4-6 day's later . So the question is could you run a sensor back to the secondary's or fit a cat somewhere behind the Thorley's or what can be done to pass emission's ?

From what I'm finding in the Denver area it's all about what county you're in and how much they care about air quality..

I stuck an anti-fouler on the down steam O2 on that side this evening after work. Gonna see if that will help for the time being.

I wish you could buy used OE converters easily. It's like to have a set from a newer Frontier to replace these stupid Magnaflow converters.

Well see how this works out for now.

Only a couple picture's ? What a tease :( Is this trail something I could run without slider's/skid's and on 265/75 At's ?? :)

It could be done. Sean is on 265s but has sliders. If you take the easier trail up the mountain you'd be fine. We took the tougher track. I only bumped the sliders once so even that would be doable.

I'm on 285s but there's not a lot of difference. I think he touched his too. I think it was like choice for both of us. I was playing in a rough spot and I think he missed his mark and bumped a rock.

Welp....

Water hole Saturday wasted the bearings in my stock 202k mile alternator.

Gonna toss on my spare, maybe a new belt later this week.

Spare is on the left BTW... ;)

Spare works! Put a new belt on it and it's charging for. No noise coming through the radio so it seems to be in good shape.

I guess I'm gonna buy a used 130A for another spare and I don't know what I'm gonna do with my original one now.

Is almost out bearings and brushes in it but I might just recycle it and move on.

Also mounted my air compressor finally and ran the power wire for it. Now I've got to get it all wired up and plumbed in.

That's a nice outta the way spot, you could probably mount a pistol holster or a short barrel scatter gun bracket back there . Is this for the locker-tire's or both ? If you are gonna run wire and tubing/hose thru the body I bought the family sized box of cable gland's so I got more then I'll ever need;) We need to talk about the stain/sealer for that nice wooden cabinet before the dirt set's in and you find urself sanding it down:(

The compressor is for the tires. I don't see myself locking the front diff any time soon and the rear locker is electric.

I have stain for the drawer set and I actually did a test run with it on some scrap and I'm NOT happy with it at all. It's too much like paint. I'm going to go look for other stains but I may not have much choice.
