Installed the harness yesterday, it was quick and easy and it works perfectly. Thanks for doing this, I did not feel comfortable bypassing the old way. Now, we just need plug and play for the roof boobs.

Absolutely.
What does column B mean on the "list"? Are you updating it daily/weekly? Do you get a hold of us somehow when our spot is ready for payment and shipping info? Sorry just anxious (can't wait lol). BTW, thank you for taking time out of your day for designing and shipping this for us. It is greatly appreciated!

No worries.

Column B is the forum that screen name is on. I update the list as they go out the door, paid. I will contact you via the given forum you contacted me on and get your info. Generally they've gone out within a day of payment. I print the labels at home so all I have to do is hit the drive through lane at the PO and drop them in the box. I use Priority Mail Flat Rate, which costs more, but saves me time and gives you a tracker.

Could you please add myself to the list.
Thank You,
Jakob

Also, to answer your question, but to answer it here......

You will unplug your chassis harness from the DLCU (locker computer). You will plug this harness into the DLCU. You will plug the chassis harness into the harness I send you. All matching connectors.

Utilized the MOD this past weekend. Took a forest road with the family that has a couple of off-shoots. Went for a small detour on something I would normally hit in 4-hi to keep it moving. This time I decided to lock it on the fly and went through no problem.

So just for my clarification, this adapter harness allows you to run the locker in 4hi, 4lo, 2wd, and at any speed, correct?

Yes.

For me, it also gives peace of mind. If I'm out on a camping trip or running a trail and have an issue with my 4WD system, or the ABS/VDC/SLIP lights come on and I can't engage 4WD, at least I have the locker to get home.

Yes. But realize that you'll cause major damage if you randomly lock the rear at speed. Even over 10mph.

I've locked it upwards of 40 mph, albeit I was off the power when I hit the switch, then back on the power right away. Racetrack Road in Death Valley comes to mind. A good stretch of road with a sand trap coming up. I still have decent traction when I hit the switch, keep in mind I am on dirt already.

Consider this, though my road speed was high, I was moving in a straight line with both wheels moving, within reason, at the same speed (plus or minus 2 mph for arguments sake). Mechanically, there is little to no speed differential between the two shafts. No more than an unmodified Nissan with DLCU in play. Yes, the whole assembly is spinning at road speed, but the two halves of the axle assembly are near zero speed. Plus I am off the power when I do it.

A bad low speed situation would be this. You are slow and realize too late that you've dropped one tire into a low traction situation (mud hole, sand, a puddle that wasn't a puddle), in reaction, you hit the power, but you also hit the switch at the same time. Though your vehicle speed is low you've mashed the gas in reaction to your situation, one tire with traction is moving at lets say 5 mph with vehicle speed, and now the non traction tire is spinning at 40 mph with loss of traction.

THIS IS BAD. THIS IS NOT THE RIGHT TIME TO LOCK UP.

The two halves of the axle assembly have a differential speed of 35 mph. There will be a shock load of the energy of that 35 mph shaft/wheel/35" tire (imagine your tire of choice) suddenly, without deceleration, transferred to and through the locker, to the slow axle shaft, and up through your rear driveshaft.

This is where a low speed engagement can be disastrous.

Thank you. I don’t plan on using it at high speeds, but also know being limited to 4mph and 4Lo only is pretty... eh, limiting. What I really want is 4Hi engagement. But I had a selectable locker in a Chevy S10 2wd many years ago, and I could go to a lot of places that 4x4’s without lockers couldn’t. So it’s peace of mind for me as well.

Hello and welcome to the forums. Please stay around for more than just this. There is over ten years worth of experience and knowledge on this forum.

On the list

That’s right. I joined simply because I saw these were being made, but I’ve spent some time getting to know this forum, and there is a wealth of knowledge here. The guys I’ve chatted with have been really friendly as well.

Finally got around to installing this today after I fixed my broken wire at the plug. Super easy. Thanks again!

Edit: broken wire was at diff plug, not the anytime harness. Sorry for any confusion.

Got to test it out this weekend. Works great. I am actually shocked that I was able to climb this hill. This is something where I would have previously been dead in the water if I was 2wd only... it's nice to know that if my 4WD goes I still can get through some relatively gnarly terrain! 2WD-locked here would probably take me farther than old school open-diff 4wd without a system like ABLS.

I totally recommend this mod. Here's proof it works:

I got the part the other day and installed it last night. I did the test in my garage, per the instructions, and everything worked. I’ll road test it later today, but was happy with the results so far. No CEL. Very pleased with it.
