If you have a factory bumper there should be plastic brackets in it to mount fog lights. You will will just need to pop or cut the plugs out of the bumper. If you are lucky their might be wires already ran for the fog lights (not all xterras have them ran from factory). If the wires are there then you can change the stock for the lights to one made for fog lights if not then you will have to run wires and either put them on a switch or figure out how to wire them up to a stock.

I have the factory fog lights and wires but how will i be able to mount the led pods?
Where are you wanting to mount them at? If in stock fog light location take the fog lights out and put the pods in and wire it up. If somewhere else lay out where you want to put them mark your holes drill the holes bolt them on wire them up.

Sorry, didn't notice that you have a first generation X. The comment below was meant for a gen 2, but maybe you have similar attachment points for the stock fog lights...

So what you're mean is to juss drill a hole in the top of the foglight housing? Will that be sturdy?

The plastic bumper cover has two attachment points for each of the stock fog lights. Maybe you can use them to mount the new lights, but you'll probably have to build your own bracket to fit. Here are some photos:

i actually did this mod on my X and i just drilled and bolted my LED pods right to the bottom portion where the original fog light sat. At first i though it would be too weak and move going down the road but I absolutely love it. They don't move at all and make everything around me so much brighter. id strongly suggest if your looking for more surrounding light rather than straight on light

How hard is it to hook up hella lights? Just drill in the grille area where I want them, attach via bolts, route the wire , mount the switch? What about the relay... I'm intimidated by wiring....never done much wiring stuff..
