yeah, all those pics are no longer on photobucket. When it says "photo is missing", the user deleted those pics from his account :-(

Just took a quick look. 4 of the pics are working but the others have been removed from the original posters album. They were not able to be imported from the photobucket ransomwear.
Went back to TNX for a quick visit.... There was an echo when I opened the door. O.N. had just announced that Maxterra had won TOTM, and had nowhere to post the photo (so if you new it was there I suppose you could search it out), and a whopping 19 people had voted.
Man they just nuked that site.
I did post once again to try and convince more folks to join us here.
And I'm still hoping for a TOTM / TOTY photo contest here. Having won it twice, it really is a source of pride.

I've poked around there a bit too. I've noticed that there are some new people that have no idea what it formerly was. I did have a couple of messages, so I logged in to respond to them.
Have you also noticed that they have "new members" making posts, that are completely bogus? Have you looked at the "showroom" Almost nobody who had a build thread has anything in there, its' all just bullshiat shots of stock X's pulled from somewhere, and given some or no information about members who aren't actually members.
It's almost like they wanted to make the site seem outdated, due to the X not being made anymore.

Guys, don't worry, we can all head back now, AGAdmin posted an update that shoots the forum into the future regarding feature sets and such never seen before. They are working on adding never-seen-before things like showing the last poster in the topics list, and multi-quote support. Also, they are working on fixing Tapatalk issues. See, they clearly are listening to us, so we can all abandon XN and return to all the advanced gloriousness of the old site.

I pretty much had to crack out my Kabar to walk around in here after posting that, the sarcasm was so thick.
I mean, I went and found a Xenforo plugin like 2 weeks ago that would have probably solved the biggest complaint users were having with the site, and they pretty much haven't acknowledged that complaint as being an issue at all (editing of first posts, but are busy making things like smilies posted via Tapatalk (when the new design is supposed to be mobile-friendly) work... Its more that their recent announcement was literally adding features that have been in online forums for over 10 years now.
I plan on sticking around here unless you guys decide to go off the deep end.

Haha so they restored the old site? I'd love to see how much traffic has fallen off for that domain after the massive fu.
All ya gotta do is go back and look at the new post section..... 20 maybe 30 posts in 24 hours, most by noobs who "joined" in the last few weeks.
About half the posts I read while wandering through the rotting carcass that is TNX were bogus posts from gobble knows who, trying to make it look like there is some activity. Virtually ALL of the old guard is gone, or rather inactive.... not all of course, but it's fairly drastic if you knew what is was before.

I remember back a few years ago it was always busy on there and people were really quick to help out if you had something that you needed help with urgently.
What really kills me though is the 'top photos' widget they stuck on the home page. Every single time I've seen the top photos are what look like junk yard donor truck pics by usernames I've never seen once in the 7 or so years I used the site:

It looks like he's clinging to the top of the mast still yelling into the radio. I hate the feeling of abandoning him over there because he worked his ass off to make that site what it was. But at the same time, the corporate types moving in and smashing up the forum with no regard to the membership just pissed me off.
We all had a hand in what it was and I think they could have taken more interest in what we wanted and needed to keep it thriving. But they don't care.
I like this place and I'm glad so many have moved over here so we can build it up and have our community back as OURS.

Yah, sometime last week VS went and screwed up the permissions for the mods-only forums and they are visible now, ON has been throwing the same complaints at them in there as the rest of the regular crowd was doing in public, and basically getting the same (lack of) response. I think he is sticking with the site for historical reasons, but will see how long that lasts before he throws in the towel as well.
I mean, it had an entire like 50 posts over the course of the weekend (I tend to check once a weekday, earlier in the morning), and only had about that as unread. We get that just picking on one of the guys in the GPWS forum in like an hour over here...

Yeah..... I feel bad when I think of posters like Old Navy. Valuable posters like Old Navy, Surf & Snow and many, many others, make me feel like an unworthy 'free rider'. Folks who have invested so much into the social capital that not so long ago made theNewX.org a terrific site.
The new owners have had the benefit of some polite and constructive feedback yet seem to emphasize priorities that are uncorrelated to what community members want. The prognosis for theNewX.org is not good.

I have nothing against ON, but after the revealing of the crap-posting behind members backs secret high school forum room, and seeing his emergency pleas for AG to hide it back, I can't say I really care if he does join us.
Although one thread over there reveals ON and Mr. Bills already threatening to leave. I respect their dedication to the site and standing up for it the way they have.
But out of all this I wonder if we might not be better served in the long run leaving some baggage to die there, namely some of the "elites" who have become jaded and are not the repositories of knowledge they once were and now only come out as a peanut gallery to heckle newcomers.
I have my reservations about this forum., which are dissipating. The original management as I'll refer to it creeped me out. But I'll give it a shot, I haven't been posting a ton here but I am trying to lurk and browse here regularly and be ready to contribute when something fits my niche. This looks like the best new home for Xterra enthusiasts.

Ive only been an X owner for almost a year now so I was relatively new to online resources in general. I found tnx and learned so much about my vehicle that I became a supporting member A WEEK B4 SHTF.. Ive been here ever since and am grateful for the added knowledge that is here. It's great having an, at your fingertips family of like minded individuals.

I made the jump from TNX to here a few years ago. This place has always been welcoming and full of info. And as a newly appointed moderator I will say this about the mods that cane before me. They have always been fair and always willing to help. Everybody has always been nice, friendly and willing to take the time to help anybody out ( in other words very Canadian like)
