How-to: Cheap OEM-Style Camber Bolts

Update: First check on Parts Souq to see if they have them in stock, with shipping you can get the Nissan bolts for cheap. If not, then check out what's below.

So I had a set of Moog camber bolts that the alignments shops rounded out after about a year. I wanted the better quality OEM Nissan set but the price is a bit high for what's basically a bolt with a notch in it so I wanted to see if I could find a good alternative that isn't the easy to round out 1/3-shaved bolt style. I came up with a good solve to save some money, I bought the OEM cam washer from Nissan, reused the existing nut from my stock LCA bolts, and bought a Febest 0229-004 alignment bolt.

I wasn't sure if the bolt would work but it's an exact match with the other hardware. I would say that they might be an OEM supplier but the bolt head is slightly different from the Nissan one but they at least used the Nissan bolt as a template so it has the degree of adjustment markings which makes the alignment guy happy and I feel a lot better having a solid bolt back in my LCA's. I've been running them for about a year/12,000 miles or so now with no problems.

Parts List
x4 Febest Camber Bolt. Part# 0229-004: $6.95
x4 Nissan Camber Washer. Part# 545591Z600: $6.15
x4 Nissan Nut: $0

Total Cost: $13.10 per camber bolt or $52 bucks for a set, about half the Nissan price.

I am new at this so I am buying Nissan OEM bolts, washers, nuts, etc. But from experience elsewhere I know that the same can be had for less.

Anyhow I decided to compare to what I paid ordering from NissansPartsDeal.com.

NPD lists in US dollars the pin-transverse link (camber bolt) alone at $18.69 each. That does not include the cost of shipping, taxes, border fees to me.

The Febest camber bolt cost almost a third less. Multiply times 4 for each side..... I get it. :)

I see Calimini offers a Cam bolt kit for $69.95. Is that kit OEM?

The Febest bolt is the only replica of the Nissan bolt I've ever seen sold in the aftermarket.

Pretty much no matter where you buy a set from that isn't one of those two will be the generic kit like that Calmini one. The Nissan bolt is the one you want for sure, the washer on the bolt head is a part of the bolt itself. The problem with those other kits is over time the bolt slowly rounds out the hole in the washer as you get it aligned over the years.

That said I found a new source for the Nissan bolts last week that's about the same price as what the Febest one comes out to with shipping, check out Parts Souq: https://partsouq.com/en/search/search?q=545807S000&qty=4

They have the OE Nissan bolts for $5.19

Sure, you couldn't have found these BEFORE I purchased OEM from Nissan because I stripped my Rock Auto purchase. And yes I still have all my original washers/nuts. Great find though!!!
