closer and closer to D day

Yep closer and closer.

Should be ordering springs next week. I have to find time to get up to CT to go pick up my steering kit from a buddy.

Had a discussion with my buddy that's helping me weld. Might get the perches welded on either Columbus day weekend or veterans day weekend.

I have the ball joints, rotors in the garage. Arb HD airline kit should be arriving today, and ordered u joints for the axles shafts today so progress is being made

Gathered all of the parts I have in the garage together (and cleaned it) to begin reassembly tomorrow.

First thing is to go get a 1/4 NPT tap to do the bulkhead fitting.... IMG_20190824_154803_806.jpg

Jumped right in this morning and drilled and tapped the hole for the arb fitting. Also took that stupid bracket off the axle.

Took all the hub parts out and took inventory of what I had since this stuff has been on a shelf for the past year. Dropping then off at a friends to get all the old grease out of them.

And then threw on a coat of rattle can paint.

So I was planning on taking apart the ifs this weekend buttttt....

I did pros and cons, I realize i won't have money to regear the rear until dec or tax return time.

In that time obviously the truck would be down. So I'd rather get all my ducks in a row beforehand.

The day I disassemble the IFS is the day I send the rear out for regear this way everything can go back together in one shot.

I'd rather do this all once. And the right way

Also got my bearings cleaned up and checked out. For an 87 my mechanic was surprised the shape they were in !20190829_115113.jpg

Not much progress sadly, still saving up for last remaining parts. Ordering gears for the xterra rear end hopefully soon.

Took the x to work today. realized she's leaning hard driver. Damn torsion bars. Hopefully I'll start spraying pb and get them adjusted 20191018_172441-3024x2268.jpg

Got let out of work early yesterday. Decide to give the X some work. Finely I have a working snorkel. And an airbox that isnt rigged with silicone. (And no more check engine for running lean)

With hours getting cut. I ordered a spanner socket and seals for the dana 44. Maybe I'll get that sucker together this week

Stepped foot in the garage for the first time in months.

Some of you might know, some of you might not. I've gone through a roller coaster of emotions over the past few months. With that came not enjoying my hobbies as much anymore. The garage sadly took a beating and I just kept piling things on top of projects. Just as things were starting to get better all this COVID19 shiat hit and sent be back downwards and scrambling to help my Dad keep our family business afloat. Monday I forced myself to get back in the garage. To figure out where I left off. Sadly some parts went to the darkest unknowns of the garage and cannot be found lol. At least it was only a Ujoint and a ball joint boot, but started to look forward here and using some spare time to actually get this ready.

Hopefully ECXC doesnt get canceled. but if it does. Bye bye IFS

Did you buy manual locking hubs yet? I might have a set for you (if they're not damaged) with a RCV 300M Gear Upgrade kit. I'm pulling them in a couple of weeks and will let you know if they're still good.

I have the warns that came off of it originally. I need to buy new bolts and gaskets for them since all the bolts were stripped. If I cant find them I'll keep yours in mind
