What's the best way to remove the old gunk and where can I easily source the correct type of adhesive to reapply the badge? Had to replace the badge on the wife's X due to thechrome finish peeling off. Thanks

Honestly, goof off and patience. Start just rubbing in with your bare hand (oh yeah!) and when you get off all you can get a sturdy terry towel, apply some goof off to the towel and use it to dissolve the remaining adhesive. The new badge should have adhesive pre-attached.

I've got a nice used badge off a "parts truck" that I have, instead of a new replacement. Any ideas on where to source some type of adhesive that will work?

Ahh. Grey 3M double sided. It comes in rolls at home depot. The peel is red. Not sure of the part number. But it's tits.

The grey double-sided tape is working great so far. Took Ole' Yeller on an extended road trip this weekend, and it didn't fly off. Honestly, I think you'd have difficulty PRYING it off!
