Couple goodies showed up. 2 Cometic multi layer steel headgaskets for VG30 with a bore of 91mm. This should help hold some added cylinder pressure once I get there.

Doing some Kilmat 80mil sound deadener on the floor of the rig this morning. Took me about 3.5hours 1am-4:30am to clean the floor, cut and roll each piece down and replace carpet sections. Havent driven yet to know how much better it is, but I will tonight headed in to work.

While I had the carpet torn up I replaced my CB cable. I also have enough Kilmat to do the entire floor and all 4 doors. So I may be going that far

That's hands down one of the best mods. I did my entire roof when I had the headliner out and the reduction in wind noise was amazing.

Im mainly hoping to cut out some of my loud @55 exhaust noise. So far seems to have helped. Depending on what time I get off work tonight I may pull the front seats and do the entire floorboards and around the trans tunnel. Maybe even cut some heat out too

Bought this super cool fire extinguisher quick release mount. Its a kit and went together easy. Except my dumbass welded the letters facing the wrong direction. Either way it still works.

I also finally added a soft shackle to my recovery bag. I still need a couple more small things to round it out but it is getting there!D2E681CF-6E54-4CAC-83D1-CA04EE13AA17.jpegDA9D2F5F-9F69-4CDF-AFEC-19C3E167CBD2.jpeg 12C805A3-E4B7-40DF-9730-2E8018288EC5.jpeg

Fire extinguisher is mounted up and solid as hell. Quick an easy to get at if needed.

I also bought a 60" Hi-Lift and a new Firestik antenna.

So I purchased a tubing bender from Affordable Benders the other day. First order of business is to finally build a bumper I worked with a buddy to design a few years ago... gonna be a fun project to learn on.

Nice, Interested to hear how well that bender works.

I actually was convinced after seeing a fronty buddy of mine using one he bought for doing his high tuck rear bumper.

Once I get the hang of it I plan to do some rather.... complex tubework on another build I have in the works that is more of a top-secret build atm

Decided to stub the frame back and try to mount everything as high up as i can get it to be. Doing so will increase the approach angle as well.

Cut a couple pieces of 5/8" plate and drilled a hole that will be tapped for 1/2" bolt. Welded them into the frame and cleaned the faces off. Still need to drill 2 holes through the frame above the factory holes for a second through bolt as well.

Gonna do some cardboard design work and figure out my brackets and where I want my winch to sit. Should be easy from there out to finish it up.

Hey man. Can we talk about Moab trails? I need to do my registration, but I have no clue on the trail selections. Looking at the color descriptions, I'm thinking Reds. But you'd know better than me.

Mounted up and wired in a lightbar. It will be tinted amber for better dust and snow depth perception. Used some nice waterproof plugs and wired into my foglight harness so I can only use it with low beams.

Im tired of grenading hubs so I decided to buy a sweet set of Yukon Hardcore locking hubs. Hopefully this prevents me from having to do to much work this wheeling season26C4DA54-AB01-4EF6-97A6-38946CDA1EB9.jpeg

Devils advocate but why not just put drive slugs in and not have to worry about hubs?

I thought about it, biggest reason I decided against it is I wanted the be able to dissconnect the front end for my longer drives where fuel mileage is needed. Withslugs I would be rotating the whole front driveline needlessly

True. What little fuel mileage you have is precious. But it eliminates a failure point.

If I can cause a failure on these yukon hubs with all 180hp of furry, I would be sure yukon wouldnt have even sold them. Ive seen guys running 450hp ish on these without failure for a few years so should be interesting

Finally closing up some projects. Finish welding the bumper up, wire wheeled it nice, rustoleum bedliner over the entire thing (entire can), mounted the bumper, mounted winch and wired it in, pulled front grille and bedlined it, mounted the amber lightbar.

The new Yukon hubs and steering ends arrive today, ordered a steering box rebuild kit and a new oil pan gasket set which arrive next week. Its looking like this truck will be ready to wheel late April. My goal is to only be down to cleanup and organizing during the month of May
