My little welder came in today. Hell for $180 I couldnt pass this up. Has really impressive reviews on amazon and youtube. Gonna be perfect for the garage and to take to events for broken parts.

Runs on both 110v and 220v and has a 60% duty cycle which is really impressive on its own. If it only lasts me a couple years and I run the hell out of it, well worth that $180

Do NOT weld anything over 1/4 inch. This is a short circuit transfer welder. Not a spray or globular welder.

Truth. If I have to run anything thicker I wil have to seriously bevel it out. Bought this mainly for repairs and small projects. I really dont like Smaw process for most things, but the simplicity is nice for repairs in the driveway.

My bad here. I didnt realize this was a SMAW. I thought it was a GMAW.

Minor little update. I managed to get ahold of a company that used to sell Delrin Intake Plenum spacers. They had recently gone out of business but their Facebook page was still up and I managed to get one of their last spacers. I will install it when I get to doing the valve covers and such this summer. Evem if it doesn't make a difference at least I tried to make some power.

Ive been pretty flu ridden the last few days but I am tired of sitting in the house. Decided to make a little raised platform on my BluePoint roller for my welder. Im by no means a carpenter but it turned out ok and does what I want.

Took some time today with the nice weather and got the Dana 44 coated with POR-15. I also ran a 5/8” drill bit through the lower coilover mounts to account for the larger bearing/bushings on the King 2.5s

Today Im working on getting the coilovers prepped to go in and making the bolt spacers for upper and lower mount. Lots of hand sanding and fitting but everything will be perfect!

Dropping skids and prepping to drop front diff this week. I had to cut the U-bolts I used for the rear since they were seized up. Should have used antiseize on them in the first place. Knew that going into today I was cutting them. No biggie

Couple things bought this morning. Orders a Sky Offroad Designs flat pitman with a GM taper and for a toyota. Another member is currently running one on his leaf setup and said he isnt having anymore binding with the stock pitman and the Y-link.

I also bought a Yukon Dana 44 rebuild kit that comes with new bearing and shims for when I install the locker and gears.

I will be picking up some rotors and pads today and working on getting the hubs finished up so I can easily roll the axle under the truck

I'm looking forward to seeing it. Ii wish I had the skills to do something like this. Maybe one day. I bought a second X (2011 P4X) so my 08 is primarily for trail duty and I can hopefully work on the extreme mods in the future.

Sweet! Yeah, its been way to much work and I normally wouldnt take something like this on. Its been a huge learning process for me. Alot of it I picked up just from what I do for a living, but some of this other stuff is all new to me

I'm not sure but a flat pitman might not clear the frame track bar bracket (leaf setup does not have a track bar). Maybe because it is shorter it will be okay...something to check.
Will the shorter arm limit your turning?

Not sure yet. Once I have everything in I will know. If I have to taper the stock pitman I have the tools. I will keep and eye out for that though. I dont think it will cause steering issues, but I will have to see.

I'll take some pictures of my junk with a drilled stock arm with it's relation to the Calmini bracket when I get a chance. My turn radius is limited by the throw of the stock pitman arm/steering box; I don't hit the steering stops on ether right or left turn when the steering is centered...
