Calling All Veterans

Ok, I need opinions from vets, particularly, marine combat vets, so, ya'll help me out here.

I have a friend, whom I found out this morning, has a bit of an issue keeping his pecker in his pants, has been paying for "escorts" and cheap hotels, his wife's the one bringing it to my attention, and, when she did, it (very obviously) came up that he's got a problem keeping his hands to himself. She's got a nasty bruise in the scalp line, where she says he slammed her, head first into a door frame, during a screaming match over him cheating, and wasting their money (well, hers since she was the only one working).

Now, by all accounts, he deserves the no holds barred ass kicking that he's going to get, but, the question is, with him having pretty bad PTSD, and, the whole marine vs army things not being equal, I'm not sure if I'm better off leaving it at a "dude, you hit her again and I'll hospitalize you myself" or if I'm going to have to actually get physical for it to sink in. More importantly, my concern is how bad the risk is of him snapping and it turning into a very ugly and dangerous fight would be.

My main reason for stepping in (at her request) is that she's **tiny** and has a 4mo old baby to worry about, if I thought she stood a chance against someone my size (and he is) I'd just give her pointers and at most give him a verbal lashing...

I'm not a veteran and this is all I will say. This is a matter for the police because an ass whooping in todays day and time can easily mean legal woes for both people in the fight.

True enough Mac, but, it's also on par with what I'd do to you if I found out that you'd tried to whup up on your wife.

As a friend I'd give you the warning that it wasn't kosher. In his case, the trip to the hospital may be to the psych wing for evaluation...

I follow you. I just don't want you to wind up in jail, even if it's perfectly and wholly justified.

Well I was just given the super secret handshake to enter into the Xterra Stonecutters Society. I've been in the Kentucky Guard since 2001, and a UH-60 maintainer the entire time. I've always been in a flight company and I've been a federal technician at our facility for 8 years. Three deployments so far. Iraq '05-'06 (attached to 4th Bat 101st Aviation Regt.), Kosovo '09-'10 (that was a blast), and now in Kuwait. Flight instructor for the past three years and yeah, that's about it. Oh, I've also been to the 15P (Flight Operations) course and 15U (Chinook transition). So I guess that's about it.

Do you have an extra Wildcat Dustoff patch? I may have to find another unit patch so we can trade!

My names Jonny. Been in the AF since 07, deployed once to Kuwait, worked security around Nuclear Weapons, got tired of it so I joined the USAF SWAT team they had; TRF. I became a tactics instructor as well as an operator and team leader. Proficiency including advanced fire arm training, rappelling, helicopter integration, small unit tactics, and much more. TRF is the AF's best kept secret.

Recently got out of AD and joined the Reserves where I'll now be working at Washington DC at Joint Base Andrews.

Also, the guys that live in Knox, my girlfriend lives in Radcliff and I'm up there every other weekend. We should join up to wheel sometime!

Completely different. It's called Tactical Response Force or TRF. You'll only see them within the Air Force's Nuclear Enterprise. RAVENs aren't anywhere near SWAT. They're just security for planes when going from country to country. I'm not sure, but they MAY have some CQB experience.

Ah ok I get what your saying and yeah Ravens are CQB trained I was looking into that when I was getting off Active Duty with the Army. Just wasn't sure if it was a different job or if I had just missed a really cool part of the Raven description.

No one's been in here in a while... Checking in. I was Navy 2000-2004 and Army (NG) 2005-2012. USS Nimitz (CVN-68), 248th Military Intelligence Co., A. Co. 2/121 Infantry, B. Co. 2/121 Infantry, C. Co 2/162 Infantry. Started as an Aviation Storekeeper and transferred to Physical Security when they combined our rate with the SK's. In the ARNG (GA, OR, and MO) I was an Armorer Qualified 92Y. One deployment in the Navy to the Southern Arabian Gulf (2003) and two to Iraq in 2005/06 (GA) and 2009/10 (OR).

I'll do you one better. Wildcat Dustoff (us at home) Bootlegger Dustoff (deployment call sign) and I'll even throw in a Renegades Air Assault patch just cause. I definitely dig collecting new patches and/or stickers.
