Swap a Frontier climate controls into Xterra's?

Hey guys. So my Mother has a 2015 Xterra Pro-4x with all the bells and whistles. Now I love it all and drive it a-lot, But after seeing the Frontier's climate control on the Pro-4x model it got me thinking. Is it possible to swap out the Climate control with LCD screen and dual climate control into the xterra? What would be needed to perform this swap if it is compatible? Thanks!

I just saw one of those at the dealership last weekend. Looks super nice. Anything is possible if you're brave enough.

I'd have to dig into the wiring schematic and see whats up.

I don't even care that it's dual. And to make that work would require the vent box from the fronty and pulling the entire dash to swap that.

I like the idea of being able to set it at a temperature and have it maintain that temperature.

Took some time to glance at the 16 FSM for the Fronty...

Obviously, the control head and the evap/heater core. Probably the duct work as well. As for details, bits of harness between the controls and the core, ambient air sensor, in vehicle air sensor, maybe even some dash components to account for the new duct work and core. The big question will be how the BCM and ECU in the X responds to the new HVAC controls. There are a few lines between the HVAC and the BCM in the X, but the Frontier has more, and one set has some sort of optical sensor on it.

The physical/mechanical aspect of this mod is one thing I cannot figure out without having both vehicles present. I'm assuming the coolant and refrigerant lines are very similar between the two models, since there is a good deal of history between them, but since the Frontier is designed for a two person cab vs. the Xterra with a 4 person, there may be differences in fittings.

It may not be as bad or outlandish as originally thought, but still a good amount of (expensive) work.

I think it looks better than the current setup in the Xterra. Plus, I like to know the exact temperature of the air, i'm a nerd ok. And with the dual climate control, it can save a-lot of trouble.
