Well I was having problems with my starter now I'm not sure if it the starter or my battery because it died when I was trying to get it started.

Rapid clicks like that usually means the battery. Throw a volt meter on it and see where it's at. I'm betting it's real low.

So new thing today, after I replaced my battery yesterday it started fine the few times I started it afterwards. So this morning I was getting ready to leave work would not start no clicking. I climbed under the X and taped the starter while a coworker tried to start it and it fired up. I drove home pulled in the driveway and shut the engine off then tried to start it and she fired right up. Had to take my daughter to school after that when I got back I shut the engine off then tried to start it and fired up again. Right now not sure what is going on. If it is the solenoid is there a way to mount a remote solenoid in the engine bay.

check all of your connections first, it is much more likely that one or more of them are loose instead of a new bad starter. And for the other part of the question, not really a good thing to try to do. There would be a bunch of home done wiring which tends to get problematic, and you would have to hack the starter which is also going to be problematic x 2. so I would just try to avoid it if at all possable.

Tomorrow is going to be a day of working on the X. I have a bunch of parts laying around that needs to be installed.
