Good leaf springs?

Searched around and couldnot find a forum to answer my question, but on an 06 do any of you guys have a good recommendation for new leaf springs. I want to replace the whole thing and not add a leaf. 2-3 inch lift. I already have the rough country budget lift but am looking to redo all the suspension.

They're spendy, but they're custom made to your specific needs. Lift height, extra weight capacity, etc. Plus they're flexy, which is nice.

I checked them out on nissteclifts and also saw the OME for half the price. Are the Alcan worth the cost? Also if I'm just putting a new bumper on the back with a spare, should I get a weight upgrade? With an upgrade does it add to the stiffness?

I haven't had the ome springs, but know a few who have. They've flattened in a year or 2. As far as weight increase: If you talk to Bill at alcan, he can get you set up with whatever you would need.

Damn, these xterra parts are spendy! Thanks for the info. Need to get these on so I can start adding armor

Also is there a forum that talks about the mpg to amount of lift? I have 33s with a 2 inch body lift, will doing an all around suspension 3in lift affect mileage that differently?

I ran the OME springs (Not the Dakar Race Pack - there is a difference). Had the ones without the HD leaf, with full armor. 4/10 would not recommend again. The OME is a fine replacement if you get the HD and are not running any armor. Mine flattened out pretty bad with the weight of the armor. I think they would be useable still by someone who doesn't have all that extra weight.

I switched to Alcans and did not regret it at all. Better ride, better weight handling, and no sagging.

Just what I needed to here thank you. Obviously do all the suspension before I start adding the heavy stuff right?

If you decide to do it that route - approximate how much weight you will carry - keep in mind that your coilovers and leaf springs will ride stiff without the weight

Yeah I just plan on a rear bumper with a tire carrier in the back, and a front bumper with a winch in the front. Not carrying too much day to day

So for the rear you're looking at about 250 pounds, the front will be about 180ish with the winch.

I run 650lb coilovers and in the rear I'm running 425lbs OVER stock. The stock leaf springs are undersprung from factory and I feel like 425 is a happy place. If you plan on carrying any additional load or towing, you will want to go higher.
