Im finally getting parts together for the SAS. Here's the plan: dana 60 sua w/5.13 gear. In the range of 6-8 lift.

I'm taking my time. Hopefully I'll get it done in a year. Id appreciate any advice from the sas vets. Here's one question to start off. Got any leafspring (front) recommendations?

Get some Chevy springs. They'll look good in the trash when you order some stainless coilover.

But really, looking forward to seeing this.

Haha! You jerk you...
If anyone wants to try and convince me to go coil over that's cool too. Be interested on hearing a well articulated debate on one over the other.

The $$$ tho... is the trade off that big?

I would say yes. I've owned old Chevy Blazers that had leafs all around and the ride was rotten. I didn't care cause I was young and dumb but now that I'm on the old side I would go the better ride any day.

Go to chassis unlimited. They have a good selection of 3 link kits that are very reasonable in price. I have used them many times and they do good work.

Meh?

With proper shock valving, the leafs will ride okay. A coil will always ride nicer. Buy enough to justify that big money? Not sure.

If you run the Pathy shackle kit in the front that locates the shackles under your feet, that goes a long way to make the ride on leafs better.

Having the easy option to change your ride height or spring rate is nice with the coilover's VS the leaf spring. Whatever your choice is, it will be 100% better then running IFS. Looking forward to watching the build. Take a lot of pictures and post them up.
