First trips out, rabbit hunting on Thanksgiving and xmas tree cutting yesterday. Still needs front bumper completed and rear bumper with tire carrier as well as a few other things but it's being driven daily now.

Can you post some pics and info on how you ran your brake lines after ditching the abs box? I'm about to remove it as well and want a reference.

So I plumbed in a brake line lock solenoid so it will be slightly different than what you guys will probably set up but essentially I built a manifold with one in on the bottom and 2 out on the top for the front brake lines. For the rear it comes right off the master into the line lock and then up and out to the stock rear line.

I still have yet to figure out how to make the ABS light go away but my brakes work phenomenally.

Not sure on the 1.0 but on the 1.5 the ABS light isn't just a light to be unplugged. It's an LED soldered to the circuit board of the gauge cluster.

And yes, the only way to make it go away is to break the diode.

^^^^this, I've had the cluster out and you can't just unplug it. Prime, can you explain the "break the diode" part? I'm all for breaking shtuff if it fixes something else haha. Also will something similar work for the check engine light? It too cannot be unplugged

Once you've identified which diode it is on the front of the circuit board, you end to desolder the ends of it and remove it from the board. Alternatively, you could just crush it if you had a pair of dikes (side cutters) that will get in there.

Yes. You can do the same w/ the check engine light

The abs is one thing but I wouldn't mess with the check engine light. There's a reason it's on and disabling the light won't fix the reason.

Maybe it just doesn't like the diesel.

Heh. Yeah. I'm sure the CE light is angry with him for the diesel swap.

Yeah buddy, it's pissed that it has been reduced to a useless but yet annoying circuit. I'll pull it back apart and take care of those diodes. Thanks for the heads up Prime

I don't think the scan tool screen would be big enough to display them all. It might be fun to run it by Jiffy Lube or somewhere and ask them to scan it for me though haha

You should totally go to a Nissan dealership and say I have some issues. Lol

I made my ABS light go out by taking some needles with some alligator clip wires and clipped them to a 9volt battery. Back probed the ABS LED/diode with the needles, and FLASH...it burns out due to too much voltage. Easy, fast and effective. Everything else still worked fine.

And yes...it would be worth the time to drop by a Nissan dealer and ask them to read the codes...that would be hilarious. See what they write up on the work order/invoice/receipt.
