I was thinking the same. Quality over everything. Might have to wait it out a bit longer. Possible summer time frame or so for a Warn. :)

Through other forums, it seems that the M8000 is the most popular.

I can see where you're coming from in not recommending Smittybilt but I'd like to offer the opposite viewpoint. I was arguing with myself on the same thing and ended up going with the SMittybilt XRC9500. For the price I paid I could buy 2 of them for the same price of a Warn/Engo... And honestly for the 3-4 times I'll use it every year, I couldn't justify spending that much. It's still rated to be waterproof and pulls just as fast as my buddies Warn. I've used it once to pull me about 5 feet up a hill climb and it performed flawlessly

Good to know. I mentioned Harbor Freight (Badlands) to a group of buddies, and they mentioned to stray far away. I looked at the Winch shootout performed a few years ago, and was surprised to see that it fell in nearly last place in every category.

Very good point! I honestly might have a chip on my shoulder from a few Smittybilt quality issues in the past; I just don't trust them anymore. But you're right - for using it just a few times, the cost of the "better" ones is a tough pill to swallow.

Agreed. I do plan on getting MaxTraxx also, so that little recovery package I was wanting might cost about a grand. 0.0

I was also considering badlands but didn't see anywhere online about any waterproofing. It's funny I went out and did some wheeling last night and ended up getting stuck. The shock mounts and rear diff were high centered and dragging so obviously I wasn't going anywhere. My $300 Smittybilt drug me with a constant pull about 20 feet... Worked perfectly. I have to say I'm not much into all the hype over paying the extra money for "expensive name brands." It's kinda like reading all the stories of people spending $1000 or more on rigid light bars and seeing them complain about condensation getting inside of them just as it would on a $50 Amazon bar

Desert Runners came in.

Cleaned them up, and...

Voila!

Also, ordered 5 32x11.5 BFG KO2s for only $900 with free shipping, as well as a spare for an incoming mod later on in the weeks.

Thanks, Prime. Already have a buyer for my SC rims and tires. I'm thankful I didn't have to hold onto those any longer than I wanted to! :)

Welcome to the Desert Runners club! Hope it wasn't hard for you to find those. Mine took months and way too much $$$. Unicorns 'round these parts.

I'm eager to see those with the KO2s. Hurry up! :)

Actually, wasn't too bad. I posted on a FB group to see if anyone was selling for a reasonable price. He said he could do $200. I told him deal.

It took about a month to finalize, box and ship, but in the process, he lowered them to $165, considering I told him I didn't mind cleaning them up. That, along with $90 for shipping, they recently came in earlier this week.

Im excited for the KO2s as well! It's been over six years since I've purchased new tires, and with a different rim setup even. Hopefully everything will be here all next week, so I can schedule an install and rotation.

JCHERRERA1988'S Blackout Build

The deals keep coming in...

Purchased some PIAA 510s for $75 bucks. I've always wanted a pair, and have heard nothing but great things from the brand, besides the price of course.

I plan to put yellow filters on to break through the snow, fog and rain. These will be mounted on the ARB, and used as secondary headlights. The relays, switches and wires were very well intact. It made me wonder if these were even used?

Anyways, I think with this setup, along with the filters up top on the Hella 500s, I'll be able to see through anything!

Most likely will have to upgrade the battery if I plan to use these more often than usual. I know that there has been a lot of talk on the Yellowtops, but what are some good suggestions for alternatives?

I love my PIAA fog lights. They're brighter than my headlights, and those were upgraded :uhhh:

How are you going to do the filters? I thought about doing that but never really looked into it.

Also what size are those? They look huge!

For the filters, there's a company that makes them called Color Skinz; you can find them on Amazon. I bought them for my Hella 500s that're overhead, and am thinking they might fit. If not, scissors and a sharpie to create an outline before applying the adhesive on the housing.

Sites also are saying that they're 4 inches in diameter, which is making me wonder if these were really 510s. It was an old conversation on FB, so I can't seem to find them. Yes, they're massive. About as big as the headlamp on a 1.5 gen!

Perfect! Just found that the Hella 500s and the PIAAs are about the same size. This, making the filters universally fit. I'll probably order later this week.

Duuuuuuuude. That looks rad! First time I've seen the new BFGs on the Runners. Now I have something to reference when I need new tires ;)

Thanks Jack.

The noise is dampened SO much compared to my old Cooper STTs. I noticed how much smoother the ride is too! I'm very happy with this setup now. Currently carrying 10 tires on this vehicle.

More goodies in the works.

Updated most current image of the vehicle at the beginning of the thread.

Shot with a Nikon D3000. First 'legitimate' shot with the new rims and wraps.
