Ive been trolling around here for about a year now, looking, researching and learning. I decided it was finally time to post up my build to date and share with everyone else.

I purchased my 2001 SE 4x4 back on 02/02/2014. She was bone stock and in fairly decent shape for a 13 year old vehicle.

Day I got her on 02/02/2014C2DCA569-0980-4B34-893B-159E3E4F45DE.jpeg

Just got my tax money, decided parts were more important than anything else right now... I feel a 2-3 day mod binge in the near future.

Aww damn. Thought it'd be awesome to get a tube bumper! Those aren't super expensive though!

Later this year hopefully! along with a winch.

I did some modding today as well. I installed a torqflow trans cooler in parallel with the stock cooler. Should help keep the trans cooled off with slow crawling and such.

Also took this picture the other night getting home from work. Thought the sunset was pretty cool.

Well, my first bit of tax return parts has arrived.

P&P Engineering Rear Recovery points. As a fabricator myself, these are really nice. Glad to support those that support us. Hopefully have em on tommorow.

Got the second half (well sorta) of my car parts stimulus check today. ACparts Rear diff skid, HD TRAs, and longer brake lines.

The rear Diff skid will go on tomorrow. The brakes and TRAs are down the road as I still gotta order a few more things and dont get paid until next week

Started work on my skid plates, got some measurements off the AC parts front skidplate. Did some minor changes of my own, next to get it drawn up with CAD and plug it in to our plasma table at work and cut and bend this puppy up.

Finally had our first nice weather day this year, was able to get out and do my oil change, general PMCS, and mess around cleaning the inside up.

Organized my cargo area up some.

Looking good sir

Thank you! I really put my time in and it pays off when people like it.

Today I tackled doing my stainless steel braided brake lines. Fronts were easy 5min each side. The rear was much tougher. Almost striped the flared nut at the top out and ended up getting it loose with vice grips. The hardlines at the bottom had no problems coming loose which makes it easier. All in all, got them on and tested them out. now to take the rig to a shop and have them do pads and rotors and an alignment.

Well, I wanted something a bit "different" than what most people do. Snap-On 1/2" drive ratchet handle drilled out to fit over the T-case shifter. Different and awesome.

Not alot of progress the past few weeks. Was really sick all last week and been saving for GONE so money is tight. Did manage to get my pads and rotors done on my truck last Monday-Tuesday. Packed wheel bearings and cleaned hubs up while I was at it. Monday night I drove home and started having alot of grinding and popping, come to find out I broke a lower caliper bolt along with the wheel bearing washer screws (those tiny phillips head bastards). Tueday I drove the rig into work and tore everything down and got everything replaced and back working. No problems a week later now.

did you end up bleeding the brakes? thats my concern when doing them
You should ALWAYS bleed brakes if you open the system in any way. (changing lines, calipers, etc) Failure to do so, and do so properly, will result in very poor if any brakes and a license for the person you run into to punch you in the face.

That being said, it is possible to change the pads without opening the system and therefore the brakes do not need to be bled.

All too need to bleed the system is a 10mm wrench and a buddy. Open bleeder, depress brake, close bleeder, release brake. Lather rinse repeat until clean fluid

I never opened the system, pull the caliper off and clamps imediately went on. When I did the new lines, i did have to bleed a few times. I got a flare nut wrench at autozone for like $12 which makes life easier.

Did some work on my skidplate today. Got it bent up and halfway complete, just have to drill the rear mounting holes and buy some hardware. It is in the 45-50lbs range which isnt horrible. Welds arent pretty, but they will hold.

got it cut out and marked for bends

got the front mounting piece welded on and also got it bent

Not the prettiest welds, but they will hold.

Still have to drill the rear mounting holes that go to the crossmember. not sure what Im going to do for the front lower holes yet.

Welded some 3/8" shafting to the sides to add some extra support. Gonna take some might to get it bent in those areas

I like the work!

Thanks Man! Im glad it is all coming together nicely

Did some more work on the skidplate. Got it mounted completely, had to buy some laqure thinner to wipe it all down and get all the oil and grease off before I paint. Should have it 100% complete this weekend.

Pulled the skidplate off today for paint. I primered everything pretty heavily and then sprayed the other colours on.

Also removed the lower plastic off the front bumper as it was starting to fall off itself.
