That is a nice piece! I like the meaning behind it as much as the artwork itself.

I only have one tat and it was done by my wife. This was her 2nd tattoo and she did a good job on it, the only problem was that I was cheap and didn't buy the good ink. Result? The ink bled pretty bad causing the words to be almost illegible. It says "The cake is a lie!", it was some weird font that looked weathered. Does anyone happen to know what it means?

Its from the video game Portal. The short definition is "A promised reward, is merely a fictitious motivator." It means a lot to me as it seemed that was the story of my life up until I left California. I am a nice guy and do more than my part at work and with friends and there are too many people who see that and take advantage of it. One of these days I will get the wife to touch it up with better ink.

Hmm the back tat hurt a lot when she was closest to my spine and kidneys.

But the shoulder tat was exhausting because I got it done in two sessions. The outline first and then about 6 hours to fill it in. And obviously, I need to go back in for touch-ups some time. It hurt most by my underarm and collarbone.

My next tattoo will be somewhat of a mirror image of my shoulder one, but with a Fox camouflaged in the design.

A design I found back in highschool. I was in physics class looking for a new tattoo design, found it, then went to a friends house after school to get it done haha.
It's kinda abstract of a heart with swirls, and that is suppose to make up a rose with stem and leaves design.

Whats the best tattoo care? dial antibacterial soap, with no fragrance, and some aquaphor/bacitraycin? or just Curel (which keeps it moist?) all the time?I have heard both and am not sure what to do..

I always used the Dial fragrance-free soap, twice a day. A&D ointment for 3 or 4 days, then switched to a good lotion with no dyes or fragrances. If you use A&D, use very very little and gently rub it into the tattoo. Then take a clean white paper towel and gently blot (never rub or wipe) the excess ointment away. You don't want it to look shiny or goopy with ointment. Do the A&D ointment for 3 or 4 days and then switch to a good lotion. I ointmented/lotioned after each wash once the tattoo was good and dry, you don't want to hold water in the tattoo with the ointment/lotion.

Most importantly don't pick or scratch! People say slapping tattoos helps with the itch, I always felt it makes the itch worse. Try not to sleep on it too, as that holds heat in the tattoo and can effect the healing process.

Sent to you from my very own piece of East Coast paradise.

Didnt the tat artist tell you? My guy gave me an entire speech and had me repeat it so he knew I understand how to take care of the tattoo and everything.

I was told NOT to use A&D because it doesnt allow the skin to breath and heal. Just keep your skin moist.

I'm not sure.. From personal experience, I used A&B on my first 2 tattoos and these tats look great still.
My last one I didn't use A&B, as recommended, but the tattoo design isn't even.. but Idk if that's cuz of my camping trip the next day and it scabbed up bad or because it's more obvious with the amount of solid color in it.
