We like story time.

Alright lol.

So I got some misinformation about that dodge axle. And the parts I orders wouldn't work. So they refunded my order and had to ship it all back. So then I had an axle that was worthless to my projects.
Off to Craigslist to find a ford dana 44. Nothing.
So today I went junkyard digging and found this ford dana 44 high pinion with brakes included. Just has to be rebuilt cause it's a little rusted. And I need to see what's in it but there is some writing on that says posi...
Tomorrow I'll dig into this axle.

Meh, the Ford axle is better anyway. High pinion ftw. If it still has it there should be a metal tag under one of the cover bolts. It has a string of letters and numbers on it. That's the contents of the diff. Type, gear ratio, etc.

Just curious, did you use an online metal distributor or go local?

Local company I always use.

Blessing in disguise?

Not a bad second option. At least they refunded you the Dodge parts.

Yea it was. Kinda glad now. I got a better axle and it's a hp. And I got money for those wrong parts. Some if it I'm stuck with but that's what Craigslist is for or even pirate

So a little progress in fab work and prep. Got the shaft tunnel bent and the final clean up of all the old IFS stuff off the frame.
And then I got more parts order/reordered/returned [emoji53] sort of confusing for even me lol.

Next week after the baby is born back to work.

So today I got that cross member put in but I have to wait till tomorrow till I get my new trans mount in to set the it back down. So in mean time I torn into the transfer case and making it easier to work with to make the mount.

Here's a pic of the cross member holding up the trans and motor. Just needs some clean up and paint but it's good for mock up.

Next is the tc mount. That one will be fun since that's a big case and it's smaller space towards the back

You gonna arb it? I'm gonna have to hit up rr for that spacer.

No arb right now. Not enough money this time.

He is waiting on me to install it to make sure it's the right size but once I know he'll know and everyone will know.

Nice buddy... Your way ahead of me

Thanks. It takes a lot of work to get this far.

What is this "spacer" you guys keep talking about?

This spacer goes between the carrier and the ring gear. From my understanding when you go from tall gear to a short one it is needed. I'll post pic of later
