All painted. Question, What size shackles are you people using? I got some 3/4" but they wont fit without drilling out the hole.

bumper looks good man! The shackles I'm using came off a hitch receiver from Harbor Freight (I like that so I have a shackle for the front or the back depending on where I'm pulling from

Hey guys,

when I started building bumpers I did a 3/4" hole and have never really changed. Maybe I need to, but 3/4" is already pushing the limits of my drill press.

A 5/8 sized d-ring will fit, as it has a 3/4" pin. I guess 5/8 refers to the body of the d-ring and not the pin.

I got a quote on having some d-ring mounts water-jetted, but it's not cost effective currently.

I'm guessing the pin size on a 3/4" d-ring is 7/8"???

Thanks,

James

Well well, I priced out an ARB and it's still cheaper for me to order an RLC (which I love the look of BTW) and drive the 1600 miles (2600km) return to pick the damn thing up. Hell, if you need a Gen1 to measure for skids I'm sure we can work something out, depending on how long it'll take...

man, I can't wait for 2nd gen to be an option, I want one of these BAD.... I've already got my list of customizations too lol...
  • recovery points forward facing, on flat forward face of the bumper, preferably to either side of the winch opening (like drbandkgb's bumper)
  • 2 sets of "light holes" a set of 5" to the inside and a set of 4" (or whatever will accept the stock bumper's fog lamps)
  • upper bar set up to clear 2 5" lamps in the middle but a bit wider...either vertical or back angled toward hood a bit, no side bars.

I've gotta say, I think that'd be purely sexy. I love the look of this bumper over all of the aftermarket ones I've ever seen!

I ordered mine a couple weeks ago, and lately I have been putting James through the wringer. He gets emails from me every week, sometimes multiple emails. And I have even talked to him on the phone. I can't say how much I appreciate him working with me. I added a little extra to mine (holes for side marker LED's), and I ordered those and sent them to him, so he could measure and drill holes. I really need someone to get down there to get their first gen measured for a rear bumper. The next thing on the list NEEDS to be a rear bumper with tire carrier. And, I want James to build it, no one else.

I asked about tube bumpers. He quoted me the same price as a plate bumper.. but I will have to go back and look at what DOM he said he would use.

I guess I better keep watching this unfold. I need an option for my bodylift or else I would keep my cradle. I like the lines on these!
