The fishing in Colorado isn't all that great for a SE Texas boy like myself. Unless you like trout (which I don't :meh:). I don't mind catching them, just don't really eat them too much. Here are a few pics I have from some fish I caught around the state.

The 19" 3.5 Wiper I caught last summer. Caught it from 5 ft off the bank cranking a Kastmaster Lure.

Hope to do more fishing this year. Had a boat last year, but sold it because I needed the money worse. Maybe I can get another one later this year.

I gotta get out there and fish more often...when I was in my last 3 or 4 years of high school, I'd go every night of the week during the summer months off. Then 2004 hit, I graduated and got a job, and didn't have as much time. I think since 2004 I've only gone fishing maybe a dozen times :( and only caught dinky little fish...perch, bluegill, and pumpkin seed mostly.

I wish the waters around here were cleaner, I wouldn't eat anything that came out of the local rivers :( but I do love trout and catfish!

Nice catches everyone!

Man I would love to learn how to fly fish. There is a place near my grandpa called the Roaring River. There is a big trout farm there and they stock the river. It is a really cool place.

NMTerras, where did you find my Hurley hat? lol!

I have the exact one and it's been lost for a while now... It's around my house somewhere probably!

Oh, and sweet trout dude!

I'll chime in with some from an offshore trip with the father in law, wife, and step brother in law for my birthday last year.

P9109398.jpg

if memory serves correctly, this was the first of my two king mackerel I caught

P9109401.jpg

he was a fighter, and tasted pretty good too ;)

P9109411.jpg

angels, rainbow runner, and a pair of king mackerel, a couple of strange sub-varieties of snapper...
the phone that you see there under the mackerel is my blackberry storm2, with otterbox defender series case. I put it there for size reference. the phone is as long as a 12oz beer can, which, we may or may not have had a few whilst seeking some deep water tasty dinner.

P9109409.jpg

some more of the haul, pretty nice sized snappers too...(and they taste fantastic)

LOL - I stole that hat from a buddy of mine years ago, and claimed it as a good luck fishing hat! I actually lost it for more than a year, and then found it buried under crap in the back of the X. HA!

Yeah, I don't eat much of what I catch here, there are high mercury levels in this state. Every once in a while I'll cook and eat one streamside, but that's about it.

Here's an old one that I never put up. This is from a little pond right in Tucson that is heavily fished, so any bass you catch is a good one, let alone anything with size...

Took my oldest son, Lee, fishing for the first couple of times last month! We skipped over the Spider-Man push buttons and went straight to a 4'6" quantum ultralight, lol! There's no prouder moment for a dad!

^Agreed! There aren't many streams around here with trout left in 'em, and I'd never eat anything out of the rivers up here. Too dirty :( Those last pics made me damn hungry too, looks real good.

Great pics, I can't wait until my boy is old enough to go fishin' with me.

Thanks, they were mighty tasty.

It's definitely a blast, especially that FIRST fish! Just don't expect to get as much fishing of your own in! Lol

Caught this one in a pond by Destin Commons in Destin, Fl

The pic in the post above yours is at the dock next to AJ's in destin, its like fisherman's warf dock? We fish off the dock every year and use the fish for bait (my pic). Catch a lot of decent size cats, pin fish, and I've even caught flounders.

I used to fish under the brooks bride by a bait shop. I would buy a pound of squid for a dollar and a half catch pin fish then use them for reds. The brooks bridge connects fort Walton beach and okaloosa island
