While the muffler is being installed have him cut the tail pipe down. Stock it hangs back aways I smashed mine on the rock nearly clamping it off. Just trim it so if a rock pushes it the pipe slides behind the bumper rather then crushing between the bumper. Otherwise a sawsall can take care of it later.

good idea however.... my X was bought in 2004 new when my family and i lived in Cali so the dealer welded this tip on the end. i like it lol. but ill see what he can do.

got the Super 44 put on the X today, and i love it! it has a nice pur at idle until you give her some gas and she growels quite nicely.
btw, the video is a little crappy lol.

updated the check list in the OP.

just bought body lift pucks off ebay from Zone Offroad, and dont worry they have the right specs.
now i just need to get the bolts sometime in the future and a date to do it.

well in the past few days i got some cool thing in the mail.
one being the set of Body Lift pucks and the other witch i got today is an IAB.

install for the IAB should be this weekend. if you have the torque specs for the Idler arm nuts i would love to know them.
as for the Body Lift install....TBD.

today i put on the IAB and and it wasnt as easy as i thought it would be lol.
i blame the road salt for this.

thank gobble for the people next door having an impact cuz the breaker bar was breaking me more than the bolt.

Looks good! I didn't have a impact wrench, the breaker bar kicked my a**, haha. After about 25 minutes of grunting and straining to cracked it loose then I went and took a nap, rofl.

maybe do to the fact that FL doesnt salt their roads during the winter lol.

had the X in at school today for educational purposes.. and with that i got a free drive line check :fufu

not gonna list all the parts of the drive shafts cuz that would take to long but all systems are go!

plus i got my rear diff oil looked at in its water free, has the right smell and not to dirty from were.

hey everyone, so with the end of the college school year coming up i can finally start throwing money at my X again. as of now i have two things that i think will come before everything else i have in my evil master plans of awesomeness. first off a diff breather routed to the taillight; i have that plan all set up to Ben's AKA SilverDudes write up.

Second is a DIY snorkel. for this one i have a general idea of what i need to do. im taking a few pages out of Lukes previous snorkels by a parallel the design. im not sure yet if i want the head to come out of the cowl (plastic between hood and windshield) or go all the way up to the top of the A-pillar like a normal one, but i can figure that out later however a 2nd opinion on one design over the other would help a lot. now the main reason why im posting up on the build is to ask a question, witch is what size pipe is best to mate with the intake box elbow under the outer fender, and besides plugging up the drain holes in the air box, can i run a "fail" safe snorkel with just removing the one big intake baffel that will be in the way of the pipe?

My thought on the snorkel location is based purely on some videos I've seen. I've seen several where water only came over the hood briefly as the front dropped into a deep hole. Once the initial "wave" was over the water level was below the top of the fenders. The point is, almost every time there's a big splash as the water hits the windshield and sort of stacks up there for a second or two. I would be afraid a snorkel that ended at the cowl level might take in a lot of water at that moment even though the overall water level isn't that high. Then again if you had a forward facing head it might all occur behind it and not even matter. Just something to think about.

hey guys, well today was a busy day for me. first off I went to the Nissan dealer and got the OEM breather nipple to run a hose to the tail light. thanks Silver Dude for the part number in the write up btw! also I changed my rear diff fluid. I used Peak GL-5 80w-90 LSD fluid.

of course ya gotta clean the plugs up and whipe the metal off the magnet.

then as your truck drains take a seat, stare at it and dream....... :smile:

so then refill blah blah blah. oh, and dont worry, i use oil safe automotive silicone or RTV to seal around the plugs after i put em back on.

Jim... how much did it take to refill and how much was the breather nipple? I found mine busted the other day and need to replace it. So I'll be doing this too.

i bought 3 QTs and i used about 2.5 QTs. its easy, just fill til it starts to spill out of the fill plug.

as for the nipple it was like 5 bucks i think. im sure if i had the thread pitch and threads per inch i could have gotten one today for about a buck, but whatever.

afternoon everyone. today i installed the longer diff breather that runs up to the taillight.

They are retreads, I am planning on getting a set when I get new tires. I am both too broke and don't wheel enough to spend my money on a brnad new set of tires when I plan on going to 35's when I SAS

From the look of it they are either left over old school Goodyear MT/Rs or retreads
retread 33s with an awesome amount of tread left!

so yesterday i put on the Body Lift and today i got the 33s put on.WOOOOOOT! :w00t:
let the pics speak for themselves.




since i didnt redrill the holes for the bumper i had to grind off a section of both rear plastic pieces to fit the bumper lip.

body lift done! the 31s look so tiny!

new shoes!!! 33s!
