Identify yourselves. Don't have to necessarily state agency names, but at least identify what type and your role in said agency. PD, SO, dispatch, EMS, etc. This will count for nurses, too.

Almaville Fire Rescue, Engineer/Instructor/Rescue Technician, 8 years and counting.

Currently in EMT school, so I'll be adding to the resume in May.

Understood. Some people can't, and we (of all people) understand.

I have a former Spec Forces guy in my EMT class who can't be photographed. We don't ask questions. :)

EMT / FF going on 2 years now. nismo you schedule a or b?

Tennessee doesn't have B...we're either EMT-IV or EMT-P. However, by the end of this year, I'll have to go to some in-service training for narcan and a few other meds/procedures for the A, since that's where we're headed.

idk if you guys know but figured i'd throw it out there since we just did a glasses order. but we get discounts on brands like oakley, spy, oniel and couple other companies. we just did a huge spy order for summer coming up for the whole county. they are very cool about it just have to show verification of employment. its about 40%+ off certain items.

Happy to know we have all these police, ff, emt, etc..... folks here. That way we can help everybody stay legal and safe. Thanks for your service to our communities. From wrangling animals to wrangling crackheads, it's all important. I'm just a dumb Chef in Tennessee.

Psh, chefs are very important! Next to my X, food is my favourite thing!!! I'm in awe of those that can cook. My diet is based on things I put in the microwave or do not involve any prep work, hahaha.

Oakleys, eh? I use Smith Optics for much of my eyewear protection. Our FD gets an awesome discount with them. Tho...I do need a new pair since my current ones are scratched to heck....

Well I got a weird job. I'm a cross between first responder, police, and fire.
I work for department of transportation in a special dept called Emergency Traffic Patrol. Basically drive a Medium duty tow truck and I'm responsible for anything and everything that happens on the section of highway that I'm workin. We are based out of the Chicago area and patrol the surrounding area highways. We help change tires and give gas to stranded motorists as well as be first responders at major accidents. Shut down the highways and help with police escorts. we work hand in hand with the state police. We are known as the Illinois Minutemen.

A lot of states have the Help service now. I'm almost 100% Chicago was the state to first start it cause a lot of other states are always comin to check out the garage and go through the training.

Here's a big useless piece of junk we just got. It's a 90 ton wrecker. It has 6 winches and a 360deg rotator.

well i hope i fit in here somewhere. Along with being in Public Works for my town im also in EMA aka wanna be EMT. its really for if a twister levels the town or something like the huge snow storm we had here a few years ago im first to help out. witch leads me to a story how during that famous snow storm i led a fire truck 5 miles to the other side of town. at that time i was in our International 4900L plow truck and someone got on the cb saying that the FD needed a plow. well i was the lucky one that got the job to help. it was awesome. it happened late into my 17hr plowing shift so i was so out of it i cant fully remember details. i was up 2 days and 1 night for that damn storm.

I work at my local PD. I'm a 9-1-1 Police/Fire Dispatch/Communications Supervisor. Been doing it for almost 8 years now. Love my job but eventually I will go for patrol but I'm comfortable now and I must say... I'm pretty great at my job. Officer Safety #1 priority!

Thanks! A few patrolman understand that and respect what we do. Most of them think we just sit here and eat all day lol. We stay busy, especially since we are the 2nd largest city in my state.

^Oh man, we love what you do! You guys/gals get to deal with the callers who tend to be pissy as heck toward you and treat you like crap and then when we get there, they (sometimes) seem so much nicer, haha. It is easy to be mean on the phone to a person you cannot see, but be a coward once someone comes to your door (or wherever). Hoorah for dispatchers!
