Metal on Metal Noise at Steering Column

Been having this noise randomly come up recently. Sounds like a metal on metal tinking noise, but I think I narrowed it down to the steering components inside the cab of the truck.
Not consistently able to be replicated and isn't just over bumps or at certain speeds. The question is, what kind of things can break and be replaced there? Or am I looking at possibly having to replace all the steering crap?

What makes you think it's inside? The steering shaft is a sealed unit all the way from the wheel to the other side of the firewall.

I can hear it specifically inside the cab. I guess there could be some noise reverberating, but I'm like 85% sure it's inside the damn cab and its something in or around the wheel/steering column. If I wiggle the wheel side to side I can replicate part of the noise.

OK. I know what you mean now. I've got a weird metallic noise as well. But it sounds like it's under the passenger seat something goes "clang" when weight transfers from left to right.
