So have had the diy snorkel for around 3 years now, and redone it a handful of times playing with different configurations trying to get it to function and look the best (at least in my opinion)... this spring I went from 2"pvc to 3"abs, I felt like the 2" was to small, and a little restrictive, So I fitted everything with 3" tube.
Now this is not nearly as easy as 2" you have to cut a much larger section of the fender out, and cut a good chunk of the inner fender as well... But you can Get it to work...
Next wes filter setup, I tried the stock Setup and it would work for a while but the joints kept breaking, so I always had leaks. Next I found a ractive cone filter, and some gutter hose, ( this looked really Ghetto) this worked ok, seemed to Seal well and filter always was pretty clean, But then NMterras found an even better solution!!
The K&N appollo filter Kit, Now this does jack the cost of a DIY snorkel up alot, I picked mine up for around $105... But this thing just seems like it was meant to be on a snokel, I paired it with a $35 ebay CAI kit and have had zero issues
So now I had the plumbing and routing finished, the last bit was looks, I just didnt like the fact that It looked like I waled down the plumbing isle,(which I did of course) Plus the snorkel head didnt really fit well
So my first thought was to try and sand down the joint on the 45 degree peice and platic weld it together to make it one solid peice, but sanding plastic smooth takes alot of time and I havent heard the best of things about plastic welding.\
So my search led me to this
The Seller is currently away from ebay So this is just a screen shot, look like he will be returning next week seler name is rexypow
The snorkel Head had the Bend in it!!
So It makes It have a Much better finished look
