Figured id make a build thread...i have one on clubs, but i havent been as active on xterranation so here it goes.
This is my X bone stock when i bought it in January 2011. 2002 Solar yellow se 4x4 with 89,000 miles.
IMG_0505.jpg

I immediately decided the step rails and mud flaps had to go, and defintely needed new tires, so i bought some 31x10.5 BFG A/T's. Washed it all up and it looked pretty decent here.
IMG_0009.jpg

So i rolled like this for about 6 months, i did some small stuff like a pioneer deck and ken wood subwoofer, but in june i was driving home at about 11 at night and hit a deer, so my front bumper/grill got screwed up. So instead of buying the same old plastic parts i went with an arb winch bumper. I also blacked out my rims using rustoleum berliner.
IMG_0007.jpg

I ran it like this for about another 6 months, then i finally convinced my dad to allow me to get a 2 inch bl. I also got some new rims for christmas that year. Vision Warrior 375 16x8 with 4.45" backspacing.
IMG_0010.jpg

Then i relocated the bumper (Just drilled new holes below original ones)
IMG_0011.jpg

Nexti figured i needed some new rear tow points, so me and my dad installed these

Next mod was an Xterranation windshield banner, and smoked marker lenses for the ARB bumper. I also upgraded to led bubs, much brighter than stock.

And the most recent mod is the new exhaust. My old one pretty much fell off, so i replaced it with stock piping, but installed a flowmaster 40 series muffler, Here's an exhaust clip, sounds pretty good i like it so far. It looks backwards because i took it using photobooth on my mac.

finished pics, just waiting for 2 more lights. I might add a couple more support bars on top but it's solid, so for now it's done.

well I got a little update today. I made a deal with my dad back in January that if I got a 4.0 GPA again this semester he had to help me build a rear tire carrier. I got the 4.0 so the bumper planning has begun! it will wrap around the sides for sure, not exactly sure how yet. Also building a new light bar for the roof and hopefully getting a snorkel soon! updates to come within a few weeks!

Nice dude! Congrats on the 4.0, too.

There are quite a few people who are interested in the bumper that protects the corners, so expect lots of drooling.

Very interested in the tube/plate design. I'm gonna redo mine. learned a lot from making the first one. Have fun!!!

OH and by the way!!! OUTSTANDING on the 4.0.

thanks man! I'm going to follow this design pretty closely, expect plate will be filled in everywhere in between the tubes.

Also made a new light bar for my X today. I pretty much hated the old one and it was kind of poorly made. This one is made of 1 inch DOM tubing, and uses light tabs from ruffstuff specialties. Keep in mind this was my first time welding! My dad just taught me for about 5 minutes then i just started welding.
Pic of my first attempted welds.

I started with a straight piece of DOM. Then used a harbor freight pipe bender to put a slight curve in it. The bender doesn't work for DOM but was able to put a slight bend in it which is all i wanted anyway. Here is a pic after i welded the tabs to it.
After bedliner

I cut the wind fairing to the countour of the bar, and outlined it in some door trimming.
Finished product.

Still waiting for 2 more lights to come in the mail, and then i am going to convert them to HIDs.
Im going to start the rear bumper hopefully within the next couple weeks, stay tuned!
