And replied! Thank you CJ look forward to working out the details!

Probably most likley getting the coilover a from Civic. Will still need UCA's, cam bolts? Rear lift options. Prefer a full leaf pack as I may be towing a 3500 pop up trailer. :)

Can add a used premier power on board welding $old it :)

@g3ihnken ,How much you thinking for the spacer

emtmakr, I have some stuff that im willing to part with. OME AAL (never used), OME shackles(greasable) , 2" Body lift kit w/ radiator hose (never used), High lift mount and xoskel low light bar.

I don't know what to think!? It's all new to me :) each time I end up looking for build and pictures to get some idea of what I'm getting into :).
What I have right now is jack squat. I'm committed to civic joe for his front coilovers and as I understand will need some UCA's to make that work. Would the 2" lift mess with that plan to much? What does the BL really get me? I bought some AJ rock rails, not mounted yet. I don't think they can go up any higher than stock though?
As far as the rear I'm bone stock there as well. I have in mind minimum a tire mount bumper. I'd prefer one of the hybrid plate tube like PnP. Help on weight :). Trailer would realistically be a small pop up for pismo or forest camping. So would the add a leaves and shackles hold me up? Do I need new shocks with either the add a leaf? I've not researched the rears well sort of cursory really. That's my fault. Between daddy time, working 16-18 hr days, moving etc. I've not had the time I should to get I to the meat and potatoes.
Ideally I'd like to keep as low of a center of gravity as possible for the greatest increase in capability. On my blazer 4" lift on 35's was the sweet spot. From what I've read 3" with 285's seems to be a good place to be with the x. Bums me out I can't Titan or I'd go straight for that.
That's a lot to post

Probably ought to start a different thread.

I'm sure I'm not the first to ponder this. I'll look I to it as I can in the coming days. I'm interested in all of this and thank you all for reaching out. I'll say pm me with your prices so I can throw it into the ol budget scenario.

Thank you thank you thank you :)

korndog,

id be willing to give them up for $75+ shipping but they won't be coming off until the 18th. that's when ill be switching out my suspension. they are pretty much brand new. maybe 4k on them and never used offroading.

Bumping this up for consideration. After a trip with the family and bouncing off the bump stops full Dakar or alcan leaf packs are going to be a must.n that sucked

UCA's and leaf packs are going to be my goal

Might look around for local spring shop see what they can quote me.
Did I mention that that sucked

Just adding some clarifications for you:

Body Lift -

You asked about what a body lift might do for you. Its for fitting larger tires. You can fit 33" tires without any lift at all...so, a BL would only be something to think about IF you wanted LARGER THAN ~ 33" in tire diameter.

The stock 265/75/16 are ~ 32" in diameter for perspective.

If sticking with 33" or less, your OEM spare situation is adequate for road use.

Suspension Lift -

If you want a low COG (Stated), you don't want a lift...as a lift, oddly raises the COG. :)

If you just don't want to bottom out, add Timbren bump stops, as they are progressive, and absorb the rising forces more softly and prevent impacts with the harder OEM stops you have experienced.

If you are going to off road it to the point where articulation is a concern...THEN the new UCA can help, otherwise, its adding a lot of $ with no benefit.

If you want more ground clearance at the diffs, etc, ONLY taller tires do that for you, as no lift raises the unsprung parts of the rig.

A suspension lift raises the frame higher, so it improves ground clearance for the sprung parts of the rig (The frame on up...). The longer the rear shackles, the more POTENTIAL rear wheel travel.

AAL tend to stiffen the pack, which REDUCES articulation, as the pack is now harder to flex. AAL with more, but thinner, leaves, flex better than AAL with fewer, and therefore stiffer/thicker leaves. So a 3-Pack AAL hurts articulation less than a 2-Pack or single leaf, and so forth....and a completely new 10-leaf replacement pack (that replaces the OEM 2-3 leaf pack...), flexes better than the OEM pack, and so forth.

You don't need different shocks for a BL or SL per se (Shocks don't change the ride height), but, the OEM shocks won't allow the full wheel travel that you COULD have after adding longer rear shackles for example. (OEM shocks let the tires still reach the ground after an SL, fine on the road, but can't go too much further)

If you want more rear wheel travel, but a low COG, you could add Revolver Shackles, which give less than an inch of lift, but more travel than you'd believe...if you get longer shocks to allow it, etc.

If you add armor/bumpers, etc...you raise the COG even w/o a lift. Stiffer shocks/suspension can help compensate for that.

Food for thought.

:)

Yup I'm abandoning BL don't want it

Sure does but 3" is less cog change than 6" same thoughts i used with my blazer. All my buddies went 6-8" I stayed at 4" and as a result I could go more places with better stability.

This will be happening in addition to the rear leaf packs

If you are going to off road it to the point where articulation is a concern...

Hell yes!

THEN the new UCA can help, otherwise, its adding a lot of $ with no benefit.

I'm completely sold on the replacement of the lead pack for this reason and I would like to increase the weight carrying up 450-600 lbs I noticed when loaded for the weekend articulation was crap and bump stops let you know when you hit a rut on the freeway that has to change

New leafs plus revolvers is my general bent I'm assuming prg or nisstec can advise of needed size
If you add armor
Planned but not bought have Aj rails not on yet

bumpers, etc...you raise the COG even w/o a lift. Stiffer shocks/suspension can help compensate for that.

Bingo

Food for thought.

:)
Thank you

I'm leaning towards prg as they are within driving distance, I'm up to 2000$ saved up for this and getting ready to pull the trigger

Sourced some cheap AAL prg don't know if I need anything else for that still want full spring pack replacement they coming with u bolts but no shims or shocks. Won't "need" them per the above .

Have a full set of skids and rails not on yet

Some time need some time to put all these things together!

SPC arms are the way to go. Full ball joint adjustability, sealed ball joints. I'd steer clear of the ebay TC knock offs. Prg sells an upgrade kit for them, but you're at spc money by that time.

You'll need cam bolts for the LCAs, if you haven't gotten them.

Not sure who said you won't need shims with the AAL, but chances are you will.

Brake lines wont need to be extended for a 2" lift.

Nisstec is having a big sale right now with code XMAS16. Save up to 20%

So I'm the guy who lurks but doesn't post often, update to this

I had reason to be in auburn md stopped by prg. Heck of a nice guy md I walked out with all the little bits and bobs I need my baby is going up!!!

Don't have full leaf packs Greg talked me out of them but I did leave with the good ucas and other stuff.

Last needs are cam bolts and that's it man soooooooo excited
